Deed of Sale James Donohoe 1803
Cumberland Co., Virginia Deed Book 9, pages 301 & 302

This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of November 1803 between James Donohoe for himself and Ann his wife who was daughter of Joseph Lee deceased of the County of Cumberland of the one part and Benjamin Wright of the said County of the other.  Witnesseth that the said James Donoho and his wife as legatees under the will of the said Joseph Lee deceased for and in consideration of the lawful sum of one hundred and twenty-five pounds to them the said James Donohoe and Ann his wife in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto him the said Benjamin Wright his heirs and assigns forever all their the said James Donohoe and Ann his wife right title interest claim or demand whatsoever in and unto the lands of the said Joseph Lee deceased as legatees thereof in as full and ample amounts as if the said James Donoho and Ann his wife are now in the absolute possession of the same, the said legatees part being considered good for one hundred and twenty five acres, more or less with all and singular the appurtenances; to have and to hold the said bargained land and premises until him and said Benjamin Wright his heirs and assigns forever, and the said James Donohoe and Ann his wife for themselves their heirs executors administrators and assigns, the said land and appurtenances until him the said Benjamin Wright his heirs and will warrant and forever defend against the right title claim or demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever by these presents.  In testimony whereof the said James Donohoe and Ann his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.

At a court held for Cumberland County the 28th day of  November, 1803.  This indenture of bargain sale from James Donohoe and wife to Benjamin Wright was proved by two of the witnesses thereto and at a court held for Cumberland County the 26th day of March 1804 this deed was further proved and ordered to be recorded.
