Richard O. Sarver, Sr., 65, of Craig County, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Maude Irene Sarver; six brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Sarver, Jr. and Tina Sarver of Elliston; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jeff Vaught of Catawba; sisters, Annie Mae Beck of Elkton, Maryland, Virginia Freeman, of Salem, Virginia, and Mabel Lacy of Dunbar, West Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lea and Al Dean of Mechanicsville, and Kay and Richard Huff of Elliston; a brother, Everette Sarver of Elkton, Maryland; grandchildren, Sean and Kenna Sarver; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends and former wife, Jan Lovell. Richard was born in Falls Mills ,Virginia in 1939 and moved to Roanoke to live with relatives in 1955. From 1959 to 1985, he was employed by Roanoke Electric Steel Corporation. An avid horse enthusiast, Richard was a member of the Racking Horse Association and will always be remembered for his participation in trail rides and horse shows. Friends are welcome to call Wednesday April 14, 2004 from 1-3 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Rader funeral home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville, where a service celebrating Richard's life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Rader's Chapel. Interment will follow in the Troutville Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Lee Sarver. Arrangements Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, "Serving Every Family as if Our Very Own"
