David Lawrence Crump, 70, of Roanoke formerly of Buchanan, passed away at his home on Monday, February 19, 2007. He was born on December 28, 1936 in Paint Bank, West Virginia to the late Russell and Lorain Williams Crump; also preceding him in death are brothers, John R. Crump and William L. Crump. He is survived by his former wife, Loretta W. Crump of Springwood; daughters, Daviene Crump of Roanoke; Cathy (Kodell) White of Clifton Forge, Helen Crump and fianc, Christopher Shepherd of Roanoke; son, Clifton Crump of Roanoke; grandchildren, Juonne "JC" Waddy, Khalif Abdul-Jabbar, Amir Abdul-Jabbar, Christopher Shepherd, Jr., Laila White; sisters, Edith Boggs, Grace King, Helen Moorman, all of Roanoke; brothers, Charles (Kitty) Crump of Charleston, W.Va., Walter (Toni) Crump of Roanoke, Jerome Crump of California; sisters-in-law, Ruth Crump, Mary Crump, Gloria Crump, all of Roanoke; aunts, Elizabeth Ball of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Crump, Catherine Thomas, both of Roanoke; devoted friend, Susan Shelton, special friends, Eddie Dalt on and Robert Waldron; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Haskins officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at Botetourt Funeral Home, 254-3000.
