Distribution of Lands of Robert Caldwell to his heirs

 

Pursuant to the order of Botetourt November Court we have laid off and assigned to the heirs of Robert Caldwell dec’d their respective shares of the lands of their father the said Robert dec’d having due regard to the quantity, quality & improvements of the same as follows to wit  We have laid off and assigned unto John Switzer who intermarried with Rosannah Caldwell the lott  which  is marked on the _____upon platt of the whole land Number 3 containing 64 acres across.   to Allison Looney who intermarried with Jane Caldwell the lott No 6 containing 84 acres.  to Wm Caldwell the lott No 10 cont’g 99 acres  to John Caldwell the lott No 5 containing 60 acres to Joseph Gaunt who intermarried with Mary Caldwell the lott No 11 containing 92 acres  To Robert Caldwell the lott No 7 containing 55 acres  To Easthie Caldwell the lott No 9 containing 146 acres to Edmison Caldwell the lot No 8 containing 96 acres  to Smith Caldwell the lott No 2 containing 77 acres  To Grandville Caldwell the lott No 1 containing 102 acres and to Sam Caldwell the lott No 4 containing 63 acres --  The boundaries of the said lotts will fully appear by having reference to the survey on platt of the same which is here unto annexed given under  our hands this 26th day of November 1814

Surveyed for the heirs of Robert Caldwell Dec’d 936 acres of land 195 acres thereof was conveyed by John Ruley to Wm Preston by Deed bearing date the 16th day of August 1771 & 210 acres thereof was granted to the said William Preston by patent bearing date the 10th of September 1707 an the said Preston conveyed both of the said tracts to the said Robert Caldwell Dec’d by Deed  bearing date the 26th of October 1772  and 185 acres thereof was granted to the said Caldwell dec’d by patent bearing date the 16th of May 1786 and 112 acres thereof was granted to the said Robert Caldwell dec’d by patent bearing date the ____ day of ____ and the residue thereof which is 236 acres is surplus land contained within the lines of the above tracts----agreeable to the _________of Alexander Hannah, John Hewitt and John Walkins who  were commissioners appointed by Botetourt November Court last   to lay off and assign to the  heirs of the said Caldwell dec’d their respective shares of the said lands---I have divided the said lands agreeable to the annexed platt
