DAWSON, Sterling G., 42, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, August 22, 1993. Survivors include a devoted friend, Mary (Stink) Smith, Roanoke; mother and stepfather, Geneveive and Robert Brown of Buchanan; two sons, Granville (Don) Smith, and Sterling G. Dawson Jr., both of Roanoke; one daughter, Sufreida Dawson, Richmond; six brothers, Leo Stafford (Alice), Clifford and Curtis Dawson, all of Roanoke, Frankie Dawson, Buchanan, and Timothy Dawson, Idaho; one sister, Sharon (James) Bond, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Amondre and Charnele; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. in the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pauline Haskins officiating. Interment will be in the Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery, Springwood. The procession will form at 3903 Harvest Lane, N.W. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
