come greeting: Know Ye, that by virtue of an exchanged trea-
sury warrant, number thirteen hundred and fifteen issued
the nineteenth of August eighteen hundred and two, there
is granted by the said commonwealth unto Daniel Duck-
wilder, a certain tract or parcel of land, containing two hun-
dred and thirty five acres by survey bearing date the
twenty sixth day of April one thousand eight hundred
and five, lying and being in the
on the waters of Back creek which is a branch of
river, joining his own land and bounded as followeth
to wit. Beginning at two white oaks corner to Mat-
thias Cough, thence with his line north eighty four degrees
east fifty six poles to a dogwood and white oak on
a line of Snider’s land, thence with line of the same
south thirty eight and an half degrees west sixty eight
poles crossing a branch to a black oak and Spanish
oak South eleven degrees west one hundred and fifty two
poles to a white oak & chestnut, north seventy degrees,
east sixty poles to a gum and chestnut, south sixty five degrees,
east sixty four poles to a locust, north seventy five degrees east
sixty poles to a white oak and red oak. south twenty degrees
west three poles to two dogwood and a chestnut, corner to
the old tract, thence with the lines thereof, leaving Snider’s
land, south seventy-five and an half degrees west one
hundred and fifty poles to two chestnuts and a hickory stump
south one and an half degrees east seventy seven poles cros-
sing the great road to a black oak, south fifty five degrees
west ninety eight poles to a chestnut on the side of the moun-
tain, north fifty two degrees east ninety poles to two poplars
and a ……north sixteen degrees west thirty two poles to
two chestnuts, north thirty eight degrees east fifty six poles
to three hickories, thence leaving the line of his old tract
south eleven and an half degree west eighty six poles to
a stake on the mountain, south fifty nine degrees west
ninety six poles to the north end of a large rock
north seventy one degrees west sixty eight poles (passing a
chestnut corner to Kinzey at twenty two poles) to two
Spanish oaks, north fifty and an half degrees west fifty
four poles to a white oak near the great road, corner to
Kinzey, thence with his lines, north eleven degrees east
twenty eight poles crossing the road to a Spanish oak, north
two degrees west forty two poles to a white oak and hick-
ory, north seventy four and a quarter degrees west one hun-
dred and eighty two poles to a white oak red oak and maple
on the point of a ridge near a branch, north seven de-
grees east sixtyfive poles to a chestnut and Spanish oak
on McElhaney’s line and thence with the same north
fifty five degrees east two hundred and eighteen poles to the
beginning with its appurtenances. To have and to hold
the said had a parcel of land with its appurtenances
to the said Daniel Duckwilder, and his heirs forever. In
Witness whereof the said William H. Cabell esquire
