LUGAR, SARVER -
I'm researching my husband's family from Craig Co., VA. Craig Co. was formed in 1851 from part of Botetourt
Co. We know that his grandfather, Byron Osborn Sarver, was born in Craig Co. in 1861. His brother,
Henry Benton Sarver, was born 1846 in Craig Co. and served in the 22nd VA Rgt., Co. C. We
don't know the names of their parents, but believe they may have been Buchanon Sarver and Phebe
Lugar. The dates of their births and marriage, plus the fact that Byron named his daughter Phebe
lead us to suspect they are the parents. We also believe Byron and Henry were descended from Casper or
John Sarver, residents of Botetourt Co. in the late 1700s. We would appreciate any information that
would help us trace this family. Thak you!

FOSTER, SHEPHERD -
I'm looking for information on George and Mary (Shepherd) Foster. George was born about 1802,
supposedly in Botetourt County. He married Mary Shepherd in 1825, I've been told also in Botetourt
Co. The couple presumably stayed in the area until the early 1830s when they removed to Southern Michigan.
I'm attempting to uncover the names of both of George's and Mary's parents. I have the names of Robert and
Hannah Foster located in Botetourt at least in 1809 as that was the listed date of the birth of their
sone James Henry. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

DEMPSEY, DUBARTIS, GULLIVER, MEADOWS -
I am trying to get as much information as I can about William Dempsey born about 1720 in Dublin,
Ireland. He came to Boutetourt Co., Va. as a small childand lived most of his life there. He was married 3
times; a Miss Gulliver, a Miss Meadows, and in 1746, Jane DuBartis. They raised a large
family. I have never been able to find out who his parents were and why he was sent to America with an
uncle. He could have been in the Revolutionary War, but I think he was too old. He had a son, William that
served in the war. Maybe he was in the militia. An interesting note --- He is the ancestor of Jack
Dempsey the prize fighter Sincerely

ADAMS, ROGERS, SEAGRAVES -
I'm grasping at straws. My Joseph Samuel ADAMS showed up for the first time in Botetourt Co., VA in
Aug. 1792, when he m. Elizabeth SEAGRAVES, dau. of Samuel & Mary (Rogers)
SEAGRAVES. Both families apparently migrated circa 1804 to Warren Co., KY.. A recently-found Bible
shows Joseph Samuel ADAMS as born 1762, and that he, his wife and several children died in the short
period, May-June 1810 in "Missouri Territory," whatever that may have meant. I have found no
other record of him anywhere prior to or after his marriage in 1792. I descend from one of his two
survivor sons. Joseph could have come to VA from anywhere, and may show up in records as: Joseph Samuel;
Joseph; J; or J.S. Adams. Could my Joseph connect to your lines? Any help would be most appreciated.
