CLEMENTS, CLEMMINS -
Looking for information about Anson (possibly Ansil) C. CLEMENTS, who appears in the 1850 Botetourt Co. Census. His age in 1850 was shown as 48, making his birth year around 1802. In 1850, his household included his wife, Angeline, age 36, and eight children, including Martha J., age 17, Sarah E., age 15, John J., age 13, Mary M., age 11, Pauline W., age 9, Nancy M., age 6, Hetty F., age 4, and George W., age 10 months. The 1850 Census spelled the family name CLEMMINS. In a book listing Botetourt County death records, there is a listing for Anson (or Ansil) CLEMENTS and indicating the date of death as 12/8/1862.

REILLY -
My ancestor, Peter Reilly, immigrated from Ireland and served in the Rev. War in Huntingdon Co, PA where he was married and had four children - Matthew, Edward, Mary and Margaret. Rev War Pension records indicate that he died in Botetourt in 1812. His widow's next recorded appearance is with her son, Matthew, in Tuscarawas Co., OH in the 1830s. My questions are: Do death records exist for this county for that period? If so, where do I access them? Is there any significant historical event or migration that would motivate Peter's move from PA to Botetourt at that time?

ADKINS, ATKINS, HUNTER -
I am looking for information about Moses Adkins (or Atkins). According to a page from Violet Noble's research, Moses was married 25 December 1794 to Mary Hunter in Montgomery County. They had at least 11 children and I would be interested in information on one of their sons, Lewis, born about 1810. Moses and Mary were born in Botetcourt County Virginia, he in 1773, she in 1775; both died in Giles County, he in 1837, she in 1857. Any information on their ancestry would be most helpful, as would any information on Lewis. I think Lewis made his name Atkins, and moved to Lexington, Kentucky sometime before 1840. He was friends with and possibly a relative of an Allen Atkins who lived in Lexington at the time. Thanks in advance for your help.

LEE, OLNEY, ONEY -
William LEE and Matilda ONEY: My ancestors, Wm. LEE and Matilda ONEY, were married in Botetourt County in 1817, she being a minor with guardian. They were married by a Methodist minister, I assume in a Methodist church. By the 1820s this couple was in Fentress County TN. I am trying to determine who his parents were, or even if he was native of Botetourt County. I think Matilda was actually from Giles County, can any one confirm this? Is the name ONEY derived from OLNEY? If anyone wished to share information on either of these families, please contact me. Thanks,
