The Alleghany Highlands Genealogical Society (AHGS) is active in preserving the genealogical records of Alleghany County and the surrounding areas in Virginia and West Virginia. You are invited to visit our Library and Archives at the above location. Our hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 AM - 3 PM.  We try to accommodate by appointment those guests who travel some distance and cannot visit Covington on these days.  Email Linda Tucker at [email protected], Joan Hawes at [email protected] or Inna at [email protected].  The Genealogical Society volunteers are always excited to welcome guests and to have a chance to show them around. The Society meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at 515 East Pine Street, Covington, VA.
