Transcribed by: Mary Ann Hetrick 9/30/2012 Pleasant Grove Park Monument No: 56 Erected: Sept, 13, 1935 In Commemoration of Utah's First Indian Battle The first Battle between indians and the Utah Pioneers Occured in Febuary 1849, two Miles East of this monument, near the mouth of the canyon, between the Deseret Milita and the Indians.
