I have been told that my grandmother, Olive Marie Margaret O'NEILL Courtney, was the daughter of Owen Hugh O'NEILL of St. Paul, MN who was, at one time the City Council for St. Paul. She was born in 1896 and had three brothers (Hugh, John, and Eugere), a step-brother (Edward Buckley), three half-sisters (Mary, Katherine, and Alice) and a half-brother (William). I have personal knowledge of only one brother, Hugh, and his family. Any information about any branch of this family would be welcomed. Thank you.

I am seeking any information on a woman by the name of Eva Shelton, a/k/a Lotie Ray, Eva Ridenbaugh, or Eva Lemmon. She came to St.Paul with her daughter Viola Francis (Nadler) Hartshorn and her three grandchildren in 1924, from St. Joseph, Missouri. Eva was reported missing on October 8,1928 and never found. There was some rumor about her being thrown off of the Robert Street Bridge or being drowned in one of the lakes. There have been a number of theories given for her disappearance. FLETCHER, Jackson --Where did he die or is buried? He was born in Dufferin Co., Canada May 1841/5. On the Michigan census 1900 but didn't die there. Seeking information about Katherine SCMIDZ. She was valedictorian of her Central High School class in the 1930's. Her parents kicked her out of their home when she became pregnant out of wedlock. She had a daughter, and later became ill, and asked a family to adopt her daughter, but she lived long enough to see her daughter graduate from high school. She died sometime in the 1960's in St. Paul. Her family may have attended St. Luke's Catholic Church on Lexington, and she may be connected to Edward & Ida (Jansen) SCHMIDZ, or to Phillip Leo SCMIDZ, who also attended St. Luke's. Thomas was born in Utica about 1872, the son of Luke(1835-1897) and Margaret Dunn (c1830-?) Haley, Irish immigrants. There are two Thomas Haleys in Utica in 1900, one is a Tailor aged 28, not yet married. I descend from Thomas' sister Margaret who married Henry B. McGough.

The FILSTEAD name is so rare that every person found has turned out to be related. Various members of the FILSTEAD family moved from coast to coast, settling in St Louis, MO, Waukegan, IL and Pleasanton, CA. I have found out is that George Filstead's father was from NY & his mother was from CA. The father of Kate Parker Filstead, John Parker, was born in France & Kate's mother, Deka Huling, was born in Germany. Looking for relatives of Elizabeth MCDONOUGH (c1870-1903), born in Minnesota, probably St. Paul, married John J. GLANCY in Minn., probably St. Paul c1899. Daughter Bernice born Jan. 20, 1902 in St. Paul. Elizabeth MCDONOUGH GLANCY died in St. Paul on Aug. 6, 1903 of burns received in house fire. Bernice raised in St. Paul by family friends. Father, John J. Glancy, died in St. Paul in 1927. Both are buried in Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul.

I am looking for information on Albert TRIPP b. 1841 NY and first wife Lucretia HATTEN (HATTON) b. 1848 OH. They were married in 1866 (68). Lucretia was last recorded in an 1875 census with Albert and their three children, George, Albert and Grace. They were living in Northfield, Rice co. at that time. In 1880 Albert was living in St. Paul, Ramsey co. with a new wife, a divorced woman named Sarah Rhodes, along with his children. Lucretia has been omitted from her family's bible entries after this point, I have not found her in Red Rose cem. with the HATTENS or TRIPPS. Can anyone tell me what happened to Lucretia?

Looking for information on Richard KIRCHOFF, born abt 1884 in Germany. He married Clara Anna PINTZ, September 1912, in the Pintz home on Thomas Street in St. Paul. Richard built two houses at 182 Edmund Street. We have "no" confirmed information on Richard. Name of his parents, born where in Germany? Date of death? Where buried? Occupation?

Also, seeking information on Clara Anna PINTZ. Her father Henry PINTZ and mother Rosalie PETERMAN, were born in Germany, but we have no information on them or their other children. Clara worked many years at the YMCA in St. Paul. One of her sisters is named Minnie. Clara had one child, Harry John Kirchoff who worked at the 3M for abt 25 yrs. Clara was born in Carver Village MN, but we do not have information on her siblings, where she was raised, etc. We would appreciate any information.

Searching for information on Albert Elmer WILLEY, b. abt 1884, m. Josaphine Belzameier PREVOST, b. abt 1886,married abt 1907 in St. Paul. We believe Albert's father is Francis Xavior PREVOST, b. in Canada, and believe his mother is Emma KING.

I am looking for ancestors/decendants of John Bernard OSTENDORF b. 1844 Oldenburg Provice, Germany. He came to the US in 1867. He met Elizabeth HEIDGERKEN in Jackson County, IA, but travelled to Ramsey County, MN to be married about 1869-1870 I found them in the 1870 Census. They lived in Ramsey County until 1876. They had two children in Ramsey County: Herman b. 1873 and Benjamin b. 1875 when they moved to Jackson County, IA and had my ggrandfather : John Henry OSTENDORF. I must assume, John Bernard had relatives in Ramsey County, which is why he lived there so soon after his immigration to the US.

Earl HACKERT was killed in a traffic accident in the line of duty on Feb. 6, 1923. His parents were Albert B. and Catherine (Paul) HACKERT. His brother, Clinton A. HACKERT was Chief of Police in 1938, at which time E. Earl's son, Earl P. "Bud" HACKERT was on the SPPD.

I have been trying to locate my great-grandfather's father and mother along with my great grandmother's father and mother. Their names were Traugett SAUER and Caroline SCHOENIG. They both were from Neukirk, Germany (of which I can't find on the maps) and they had the following children: Ernest, August, and Henry--all born in Germany and then came Paul, William F., Elizabeth Olga, Clara R., and Emma. I believe Traugett came over from Germany with Ernest and August in 1869 or 1870, His wife Caroline and Henry came over about 1872. Sells lived in St. Paul before moving to El Paso, Texas. Parents of James L. Sells are Valentine Sells born in Shellsburg, IA ca 1854 and Nancy Shanks. They married 1877 in Maryville, Mo. I am looking for A. and Chas Michaud. I found a reference to them in a St Paul city directory as the owners of the Michaud Bros. Wholesale Grocers in about 1880/90. The address given was 84 E. Robie . In the 1900 the address was 699 Grand. A. Michaud was my great Grandfather. He immigrated from Montreal Canada in 1878 with his family. He had Eugenie (my grandmother) Henrietta, Joseph, and Norcipe, all born in Canada and Alice born in St. Paul. I have been able to find this info from 1880 census. How do I find more info on him ie; death date, wifes name etc. The family remembers he was refered to by the name Achille but the census lists N. I am interested in finding information re: Hans Berg Larsen/ Brigithe Christine Olsdtr.

They emigrated from Saltdalen, Norway in 1865, to Carver cty., then later moved to East St. Paul. They were founding members of East Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Children living in St. Paul, were: Jens Hakon Larsen, Andrew Odin, Louis Jacob, Anna Dorthea, Charles Johan & George H.

Present generation may include: Bruce Fyhrie Larsen, son of Lawrence, b. 1942. Kenneth Larsen, son of Donald Herbert Larsen.

Hans Berg was a builder in ST. Paul for many years. The family was very active in East Immanuel Church. Their daughter, Elizabeth, was an organist there, and them married my husband's grandfather. Martin Jochim Westphal.

Have information back in Norway to share, but would like to contact more current family members. Thank you for whatever you can supply.

Martin Flaherty was at Calvary on 5/5/45 and was born in Ireland on July 1, 1860. Bridget was born Welsch (Walsh) (would like to know this correct spelling as it appears differently on some documents that we have) in Ireland sometime in 1874 and buried at Calvary (as Bridget Flaherty) on 8/2/22.

My paternal great grandfather, Percy Paul ROBY (DOB abt. 1883 and DOD 2/12/1941) married Francis Aurelia DOHERTY (DOB 6/28/1887 and DOD 4/21/1917) on 10/28/1904 in Ramsey County, but they left St. Paul several years later and settled in Dayton, OH.

Percy and his father, Robert ROBY (DOB 6/4/1849 and DOD 1/13/1917) were both locksmiths by profession in St. Paul and Dayton. Percy supposedly played AA baseball for the St. Paul Saints but I haven't confirmed after calling the Saints or the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Francis or Frankie as she was known by was shunned by her family for marrying a Protestant and I therefore don't know much about my Minnesota relatives.

I found a letter from Percy's first cousin, Charles ROBY stating the following line of ancestors of Percy and you'll notice that ROBEY became ROBY sometime in the mid-1800's. I'm looking for any information, pictures, living relatives of any of the below:

My great grandmother (mormor's mor), Maria DANIELSSON Ledholm, born "Sweden" ca. 1845, emigrated to USA after Jan 1868 with a daughter, Dorothea LEDHOLM. She appeared in Minneapolis at the time of her marriage to Nels SWANSON (born 31 March 1839, Södra Rörum, Frosta Härad, Malmöhus, who emigrated to St. Paul, MN in May 1869) Their marriage took place in the First Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minneapolis 12? Nov 1872. They lived in St. Paul until Maria's death on 10 February 1880 connected with the birth of her fifth child with Nels SWANSON, (a daughter given for adoption "to a wealthy couple from Chicago"). The children were dispersed to neighbors of Nels' brother, Pehr/Peter SWANSON who farmed NE of Grove City, Meeker Co., MN. Step-daughter Dorothea was raised (from her then age 12) by another brother of Nels who lived with his wife in Glenwood, Pope Co., MN. Dorothea married an older man when she was 17 and never had children. Nothing traceable with her.

I've searched for ten years to identify Maria DANIELSSON Ledholm, supposedly married in Sweden to a Samuel LEDHOLM who died before her emigration to MN. No birthdate and no parish in Sweden make this difficult.

I would like to identify her arrival in St. Paul/Minneapolis area 1868 - 1972 era. Did she travel with family or friends? Where did she live? Was she connected with a church? I've found no such connections in MN.

If I am right, then his maternal grandparents were John and Elisabeth HUNTER, and his great grandparents were William and Mary HUNTER, all of whom immigrated from England sometime before 1840. Another Charles DEWEY (1929-1996), also a resident of St. Paul, may have been his son or grandson. Elisabeth Hunter was widowed in 1852 and remarried George W. Jones, my great great grandfather.

They settled on the West side of St. Paul in the area known as Cherokee Heights. They had five living children: William M. MANIFOLD b. April, 1874; Hatch Patrick MANIFOLD, b. All the children were born in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland.

I am interested in any information on this family, and the BRESLIN family, family of Joseph MANIFOLD's wife, Mary BRESLIN. I know only that she had a sister in the St. Paul area named Kate, who married a FITZPATRICK. Joseph MANIFOLD died in St. Paul on Feb. 19, 1910 and is buried on Calvary Cemetary in St. Paul.

Charles Petsch was born in Logansport, IN and lived in St. Paul from about 1865 to 1910 when he and his family moved to New York City. During his years in St. Paul he was a builder of many buildings, a real estate dealer, a member of the city council and influential citizen. His children, all born in St. Paul MN, were Florence L. (b. 19 June 1881), Evelyn Marie (my grandmother), Irene D., Phillip G., Josephine H., and Charlotte H. (b. 12 September 1898).

Looking for info on Peter and Petra (RASMUSSON) NELSON. They were living at 1785 Blair ST in St. Paul in 1913. Peter was born in Norway about 1885, and Petra was born in Norway in 1889. They had two children, Esther born in MN in 1911, and Rose (my grandmother) born in St. Paul in 1913. Petra died May 18, 1914 at University Hospital, and is buried in Laymans (Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial) cemetery. Esther was adopted by John and Thea PETERSEN, and lived at 2530 Pillsbury Ave in Minneapolis until at least 1935. Rose was adopted by David and Grace Scharz, and renamed Margaret. They lived on North St. Albans ST in St. Paul in 1920, and moved to Kansas City in the mid 1920's.

I do not know what happened to Peter NELSON after his wife died and daughters were adopted. I would be grateful for any info on this family.
