American Local History Network Inc Board of Directors Meeting March 16, 2000 The Meeting was held on in the alhnboard chatroom at TalkCity. It was called to order at 9:00 pm est. by Roxann Guess-Smith Present: Roxann Guess-Smith President, David Peterson V. President, Tracy Putnam Secretary, Pat Sabin, Jan Cortez, Norm Vance, Darilee Bednar. Member Barb Lavin joined the meeting at 9:08, and was excused at 9:16. Member Pat Neal did not attend. A motion was made by Pat Sabin to approve minutes of the previous meeting. 2nd by Norm Vance. a vote was taken and passed. Roxann Guess-Smith asked for volunteers or nominations to fill the position of Treasurer due to the recent resignation of Lucy Dill. Discussion ensued as to the responsibilities of the treasurer. Roxann nominated Tracy Putnam. Tracy was asked if she would accept the position, to which she replied yes. Pat Sabin 2nd the motion. a vote was called for, and passed. Tracy Putnam was elected as treasurer. Roxann called for a brief status report from the By-Laws committee. Dave Peterson directed the board to the status report posted to the ALHN list earlier that day, by Pat Sabin. Pat and Dave advised that the By-laws should be re-written by the end of the month. A motion was made by Roxann to begin the discussion of moving the ALHN domain of the rootsquest server, per the request of Jerry Dill. Motion was seconded, a vote was called for, and passed. Discussion ensued as to where the Domain should be hosted. Dave Peterson voiced concern that the Domain should not be associated with a genealogical server, but should remain independent. Majority of members felt that domain should be moved to UsGenNet. A motion was made by Pat Sabin to move the ALHN Domain to UsGenNet, and review the situation in 6 months time. Motion was seconded and a vote was called for. 4 in favor, 3 against, motion passed. Motion to adjourn until 3/23/2000. Some members expressed they could not make it that day.
