Took a trip up the mountain on sunday for lunch at the Roast Ox Inn at Painscastle and after a good plate of grub and a half of Guinness I had a potter round in the sunshine and took some photos of the Baptist chapel and Congregational chapel and the graves at the Baptist chapel. They were pressing the apples for the cider making in the pub car park so I took a photo of that as well. The photos of the chapels have now been added to the site but I shall need some more time to get the graves transcribed and edited, so watch this space.

While I was on my way home I stopped at Clyro and took some photos of the church which have also been added to the site.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the lunch and the walk in the sunshine.

Whitney-on-Wye
St. Peter and St

While I was on my way to walk the dog on the Begwns on Sunday I took some photos of St. Peter and St. Paul at Whitney-on-Wye.
While I was on my way to walk the dog on the Begwns on Sunday I took some photos of St. Peter and St. Paul at Whitney-on-Wye. It is of course typical that when you set out with camera in hand it is sunny and when you get there, despite it only being 10 mins down the road it has clouded over. Anyway at least you can all see what it looks like and next time I'm passing with camera in the car and it's sunny I'll take a few more.

The photos of the church can be seen here

The Begwns is an area of common land about 1200 feet up so you get some wonderful views of the countryside and can look right down into Wales. the weather wasn't wonderful but as I had my camera with me I took the photo below so you can see what I mean.

Photo Galleries
I've now started adding the photo galleries back on line and will add new galleries of churches that weren't online before.
I've now started adding the photo galleries back on line and will add new galleries of churches that weren't online before. To search the galleries either click on the relevant link, if there is one, or click on a photo and that will take you to the gallery on the flickr site where you can search all the photos that are available. Unfortunately, Freefind the search facility that I used before (and will again) will not index enough pages to include all the galleries so this is the only way I can think of setting it up. If anyone has any ideas about a better way please leave a comment.

Lastly, if you see a link to a gallery on a page that isn't clickable yet, it simply means that it is about to be added ... real soon Happy

Another Revamp
Yeah I know its changed again, but I think this one looks much better and is easier to navigate. The first revamp was built with Apple's new iWeb software but although it was really nice to use and produced a nice looking site it was a pain to publish as it insisted on re-publishing everything again instead of just the updates
Yeah I know its changed again, but I think this one looks much better and is easier to navigate. The first revamp was built with Apple's new iWeb software but although it was really nice to use and produced a nice looking site it was a pain to publish as it insisted on re-publishing everything again instead of just the updates, and as you can image it was taking a long time with only a fraction of the info that will be eventually available here. I then tried another package but in the end decided it wasn't quite what I wanted ... but I think so far I'm happy with this version.

I need to tweak the galleries later but I'll get some of them up and working first and then gradually do the changes. The main priority is to get the info pages up and working with basic galleries and then I can fine tune it all later.

Hope you all like the new design.
