Jackson Barkley Smith, Jr. was assigned to the 326th
American Air Forces at
MacDill Field in Florida as a Very Heavy Bomber
Pilot. His service included
being stationed in Cuba in March, 1945 and Okinawa
in August 1945.
He received the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan),
the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal,
the American Campaign Medal and the World War II
Victory Medal.
