Did You Know?

1. In 1881 when names were given to stations on the Texas and Pacific Railroad, the signboards for Eskota and Trent were interchanged by mistake. What is now called Trent should have been named Eskota.

2. There is a list of all Texas Post Offices and Postmasters covering the period 1846 to 1930. Find it HERE!

3. You can CLICK HERE and go to the Texas Handbook Online and get a short history of many of the towns listed above! The 'Handbook' is also really good means to find where any town in Texas is located.

4. Click Here for some fairly recent photos of what is left of some original Cedar Gap buildings. The old Cedar Gap School buildinig shown in the photo burned in a large grass fire 5 Mar 2009.
