Allen, Walter Ray Funeral services for Walter Ray Allen, 55, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Tatum officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.  Mr. Allen died Sunday, March 4, 2007 in Lubbock.  The Plainview Daily Herald, 6-7 March 2007.
Bernal, Ramiro "Bam Bam"
Funeral Mass for Ramiro Bernal, 46, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. Tony Neusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bernal died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, in Tulia. He was born Feb. 2, 1960, in Carrizo Springs. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1978 and attended Texas Tech for two years. He worked for Swisher County Cattle Company for 25 years and was on the Tulia Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bernal of Tulia; one stepson, Corey Waldroop of Tulia; his mother, Eva Bernal of Tulia; one sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Ralph Hernandez of Tulia; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Albert Bernal of Tulia, Hector and Jesus Bernal of Aurora, Ill., and Richard and Linda Bernal of Amarillo; his grandmother, Conception Bernal of Asherton; and several nieces and nephews. Carver, Clara
Funeral services for Clara Carver, 61, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home.  Mrs. Carver died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1997, in Swisher Memorial Hospital.  She was born Clara Bell Clayton on Dec. 13, 1935, in Little River Co., Ark. She grew up in Foreman, Ark., and attended schools there. She moved to Happy in 1959 and to Tulia in 1972.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Happy. She married L.J. “Dick” Carver on Aug. 6, 1953.  Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Judy Adams of Tulia, Mrs. Rusty (Lynn) Reese of Plainview, Mrs. Rick (Dianne) Owens of Lubbock and Mrs. Randy (Jannis) Lindblad of Lubbock; four sisters, Betty Roper of Quanah, Nolie Wright of Wolfforth, Linda Williams of Bethune, Colo., and Patricia Light of East Granbe, Conn.; three brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Clayton, both of Tulia, and Ben Clayton of Garland; three grandchildren, Jeremy McCaslin of Plainview, Lori McCaslin of Amarillo and Eddie Owens of Lubbock; and four step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Ragin, Ralan and Rusty Lyn Reese, all of Plainview.  A grandson, Nathan Clyde Lindblad; her parents, Chloe and A.L. Clayton Sr.; a sister, Jo Ellen Merek, and a brother, A.L. Clayton Jr., are deceased.  Pallbearers will be nephews Thurman Roper, Kenny Roper, James Roper, Justin Light, Kevin Light and David Lindeman. The family suggests memorials to Family Hospice of the Plains, 7109 Olton Road, or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Ervin, Bessie Mae Funeral services for Bessie Mae Ervin, 50, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Ervin died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Plainview.  Plainview Daily Herald, 9 January 2007.
Johnson, Betty Jo Boyd
Betty Jo Boyd Johnson, 40, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in Amarillo.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Veals, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.  Mrs. Johnson was born April 19, 1966, in Olton. She was a cafeteria manager for Tyson's in Amarillo.  Survivors include a son, Steven Boyd of Tulia; her mother, Mary Wilson of Tulia; two sisters, Laura Casel of Amarillo and Rachel Boyd of Tulia; and a granddaughter.  Sign the online guest register at www.kornerstonefunerals.com.  Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 29, 2007.
Jones, Carl W. "Bill"
Carl W. "Bill" Jones, 85, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.  Mr. Jones was born May 1, 1921, in Swisher County to Mary Dover and William Riley Jones. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, after which he owned and operated Bill's Beauty Shop in Tulia since 1946. He married Mildred Jones on July 30, 1956, in Clovis, N.M.  He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, a brother, Jack; a sister, Dorothy; two half brothers, Dover and Ben Pearson; and two grandchildren, Scott and January Thompson.  Survivors include a step-daughter, Carolyn Pearson of Cottonwood, Ariz., a grandson, John Pearson of Phoenix; and a nephew, Allen Jones of Denver.  Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 19, 2007.
