*HARMON, SINGLETON

John HARMON, Sr., born ca 1790 in Louisiana, received a Republic of Texas land grant in 1846. He appears in the 1860 census of Orange County at age 70 with wife Elizabeth. She apparently died prior to 1867, as Harmon then married Eugenia, widow of John SINGLETON. We find the 80 year old Harmon still living in 1870 with a household that includes Eugenia and her Singleton children. A year later, John HARMON, Jr. married one of the Singleton daughters, Felicite Sarah, widow of Edmond CAUGHLIN. Who was Elizabeth, the senior Harmon's first wife? Did Harmon have ties to the Singleton family before coming to Texas?  If you have any information please contact Don Pusch at [email protected]

ROBERTS, TOMS

I am searching for traces of a family of my relatives that I believe may have descendants in the Jefferson County or Beaumont area.  Thomas F. ROBERTS married my cousin Maude TOMS in Sabine County, Texas in 1906.  This marriage license is the last trace that I have of them.  Through a recent contact, I received information that this family may have moved to Beaumont shortly after their marriage and that they gave birth to a daughter the next year in 1907.  It was also reported that maybe Maude passed away shortly after the birth of this cihild named Maudie ROBERTS and that Thomas F. ROBERTS lived in Beaumont until his accidental death about 1914 - 1915.  I would be grateful for any bit of information on this family.  Please send responses to B. Toms - [email protected]

FERRELL

I am trying to locate the married name and address/phone number of my great uncle's daughter.  His name was Dorough "Dud" FERRELL.  He was born in October 1898 in Bell County, Texas.  He lived and worked for most of his adult life in the Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas area.  According to a distant cousin, he was very involved in genealogy and may have had some of the missing pieces of family information we have been searching for these past years.  Hopefully, his daughter still has his work or knows where it can be found.  If you have any information that can help, please contact Dianne Ferrell at [email protected]

*RITCHIE (RICHEY), KIRBY, HURD/HERD, HORTON

I am searching for a Walter RITCHIE, who was married to Nannie KIRBY as possible parents to William Carl RITCHIE, b. 1887 in Orange County, Texas.  There is also a connection to Ruby Elizabeth HURD/HERD and would like to find her.  Mother of William Carl RITCHIE died shortly after 1887 and Walter may have remarried.  There was a Walter RICHEY in San Augustine County, Texas that married Mollie Horton in 1900.  Is this the same man?  I am at a loss with this family!  Would greatly appreciate any help!  Send any information or correspondence to Janelle Foster - [email protected]
