We hope that the information you find on the TxGenWeb County sites is helpful. It is our goal to provide as much information and as many links to information as we can. However, there are some things that we are asked to provide that is not in our power to do so.

All the WorldGenWeb, UsGenWeb & TxGenWeb County sites are maintained by volunteers. These volunteers cannot do your genealogical research for you and most don't even have a lot of time to work on their own genealogies because much of their time is spent providing information & links for everyone searching in a given county or country.

We cannot publish anything that has been copyrighted by someone else without their written permission: Example.... someone had inventoried a cemetery or cemeteries in a given county and has published that inventory under copyright. We would love to have permission to post that information on the County Page, but without that permission we are left with only a few choices. First, we can try to direct you to where those records have been published. (i.e. books, genealogical society quarterlies, libraries, etc.). Second, we will try to have volunteers who own such publications, to do very minimal look-ups for you. Third, we encourage groups (Boy & Girl Scouts, church groups, school history classes, etc.) and individuals to make a new inventory of such cemeteries and to share that new information here. Forth, we can post specific burials in specific cemeteries from information that individuals send for publication. These may be include a "place list" produced from within genealogical software programs such as Family Origins, etc. Beyond that, you may not find things that are available in the "printed world" posted here.

Other previously printed and copyrighted materials fellow much the same guidelines as the example of cemetery records.

These sites can only be as good as all the researchers want them to be.
