Services Held for Ernest McLemore

Funeral services were held for Earnest E. McLemore, 74, of Hemphill at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Gravelhill Baptist Church with the Rev. E. E. Adams, pastor of Bulah Baptist Church near Pendleton in Louisiana. Assisting was the Rev. A. E. Armstrong, pastor of Gravelhill church.  Mr. McLemore, a native and lifelong resident of Sabine County, died at 8:00 a.m. Oct. 7 in the East Texas Convalescent Home, San Augustine, where he had been for seven weeks. He was a retired farmer.  Burial was in Gravelhill cemetery under direction of Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill. Pallbearers were nephews, Max Cammack, Gayle Wyatt, Rufus McLemore, Earl McLemore, Martin Conn and Elroy Boyd.  Survivors are his wife Mrs. Florence Boyd McLemore of Hemphill, two sons, Hugh McLemore of Beaumont and Paul McLemore of Houston, one brother, Ira McLemore of Hemphill; three sisters, Miss Mellie McLemore, and Mrs. Jack Cammack, both of Hemphill and Mrs. Elvie Speights of Beaumont, and five grandchildren.

Local Woman’s Funeral Held

Funeral services for Mrs. Mellie Mary McLemore, 79, of Hemphill were held at 3 p.m. Thursday September 17 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill.  The Rev. Jim Turner, pastor of Hemphill First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in the Gravehill Cemetery, Sabine County.  Pallbearers were her nephews, Earl McLemore, DeFord McLemore, Paul McLemore, Guy Hughes, Max Cammack, and Jerry Van Valkenburg.
Mrs. McLemore died at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Manor Nursing home in Hemphill.  Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. H. B. Cammack of Hemphill, Mrs. Elvie Speights of LaMarque, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for T. Morris Held Monday

Funeral services were held for Terrell Morris, 51 of New Orleans in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel at 10 am Monday with the Rev. Noel Hammock, pastor Little Flock Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Morris, a native of Sabine County, died suddenly Saturday of a heart attack in New Orleans. Burial was in Harper’s Chapel Cemetery, Sabinetown, under direction of Starr Funeral Home, Hemphill. Nephews were pallbearers. Survivors are one son; Paul Morris of Pasadena; three daughters, Mrs. Billie Jean Russell of Beaumont, Mrs. Marie Snow of Pasadena, and Miss Patricia Morris of Pasadena; six sisters, Mrs. Jessie Ener of Honey Island, Mrs. Hattie McFarland and Mrs. Lillian Shute, both of Buna, Mrs. Lou Ella McFarland of Many, LA, Mrs. Sudie Meeks of Pineland and Mrs. Minnie McFarland, Pineland; two brothers, Wylie Morris of Hemphill, and M.
