GUTHRIE My ggreatgrandfather was Enoch Wiley GUTHRIE. He married a Georgia Ann SHAW in LA, then came to Parker co. There are conflicting notes on him from different relatives, one said he died in Bell Co in 1863 but his daughter, Mary Califonia Guthrie, wrote in her bible he died in 1862 in Parker Co. He left a pregnant widow with several other children. Georgia later moved to Nueces co and from there to Kerrville in Kerr Co. I am wondering if perhaps they came to Parker co because Georgia was related to the SHAWs that were here. There is no record of Enoch serving in the civil war, so beleive he was killed in an Indian Raid. ALso my mother remembers talk about there being a "TX Ranger" in the family & that there was a massacre of an Indian village, only a baby girl was left alive & she was taken up and raised by this "Ranger". Of course I have found nothing to back up this story; & of course anyone that might remember more has long since passed on. Would be interested in hearing from anyone that might make a connection here. EVANS Also looking for the family of Newell S. EVANS, born about 1897, Aledo, Parker Co TX, according to info on my mother's birth certificate. He married my grandmother, Ola "Louise" Guthrie in NM, they then lived awhile in Lubbock Co. Later moved to Globe, AZ. He has left no trace that I can find. Any clues appreciated. Thanks

Searching for information on the family of George Dennis Woodard and wife Sarah J. Davis Woodard who resided in Parker Co 1910-30 per census reports. They were married 9 yr in the Hood Co 1900 census; I find a Parker Co marriage for a Geo D. Woodard to Sallie Davis 12/21/1890 so think there is a discrepancy one place or the other with her name and this is perhaps their marriage?? Their children I have listed were 4 daughters Cora Bertie b. Nov 1891, Gracie L. b. June 1893, Mary Ruth b. abt 1900, and Willie E. b. abt 1907. Have no idea at this point to their married names. Geo Dennis' wife had a brother Thomas B. Davis who I am quite certain I also find in Parker Co census reports 1900-1920 and then he and his family move to Oregon where he died. At least one aunt, Myra Davis, Blair Lampton was also in Parker Co if I am connected them to the right line past their father John J. Davis who I lose after the 1900 Hood Co census. Her children with Reuben Lampton were Jennie Ora b. July 27, 1875, Walter, Pearl Lampton Grimes, Louisa Lampton Carter. Myra died in Tarrant Co I think. Does anyone have any information on these people or their kin? I am grt-grt granddaughter of John J. Davis; am descended through another of his daughters, Jennie Teresa Davis Cogburn who also married in Parker Co, November 26, 1893 to William I. Cogburn. Would like to find more, share family info. Any help appreciated. Sandra
