Seeking info re: Willis Randolp DILLARD and Rosie/Rosa WEST who married in PARKER CO. on 28 NOV 1878. Also further info re: Thomas Joel DILLARD (father of Willis) who died in PARKER CO. HAMBY posted by Helene R Schmidt on Saturday, August 21, 2004

I am seeking information about the death of Virgil HAMBY who died in Parker County, TX possibly Weatherford, in 1940. He would have been the son of Joseph Lee and Martha "Mattie" Hamby or possibly Mildred Hamby. Also, obituary look-ups, please, for Eva HAMBY and L. HAMBY. Eva was born 25 Apr 1885 and died Feb. 1977 and L.HAMBY was born 03 Apr 1907 and died March 1977. Joseph Lee HAMBY came from MO and he married my great-grandmother's sister, Martha. This family is my "brick wall." Any help much appreciated, especially about Virgil "Virgie" and his family. I am hoping they can give us information about the rest of the Hamby folks. Thank you!

HANCOCK posted by Joni Chancellor on Saturday, August 21, 2004

According to family history, my great-grandfather John P. Hancock was asked to leave Parker county for shooting two people. One apparently died. This supposedly took place in the early 1900's. He came to Hall county in 1904. I have been unable to verify this story. I have two uncles that swear by this story,or old age has gotten to them!

COATS, MCCONNELL posted by James Bellamy on Wednesday, August 25, 2004

My great grand uncle, James Jefferson Coats, came to Parker County and married Sallie McConnell. They had two children, Louis B and Blanche Josephine. Jeff died on 9 Jan 1896 and is buried in the McConnell Cemetery. Sallie married twice after Jeff's death, William Mayer on 1 May 1899; and George F McRae, on 7 Aug 1904; both in Parker County. I believe Sallie's father was Henry. I would be very interested in any info on the McConnell's of Parker County and/or James Jefferson Coats. I have alot of information on Sally and Jeff including a letter written by Sally to her mother-in-law in Dallas County on 8 Feb 1895.
