I am Harry Brownslow Brittan, Jr., born in Chicago, Illinois, December 15, 1938. My father was Harry Brownslow Brittan, Sr., born in Mendota, Illinois, June 13, 1901, and died in Galveston, Texas, May 31, 1951. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas.

My Mother, Emma Louise Clark Brittan, was born in Palo Pinto, February 7, 1909,and died in Arlington, Texas, December 18, 1995. She is also buried in Paris, Texas. She was the youngest daughter of Joseph Clark and Edith Holden. Her father was a lightning rod salesman and deputy sheriff in Young County and abandoned his wife and three daughters sometime around 1920. Her mother, Edith, was the daughter of Dr. John Holden, the first licensed dentist in Texas (according to folklore) and was the first women elected as a school superintendent in Palo Pinto County. My Mother, and her two sisters, Marinette (Sissy) and Inez (Bill), lived in Mineral Wells for many years before going off to seek their fortunes in Dallas, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

I grew up with many stories about Palo Pinto County, the town, the surrounding area, and love that part of Texas.

Am looking for fellow classmates of Sam Houston Elementary, Mineral Wells, from l942 to l946, before moving to Dallas. I was born in Palo Pinto County on March 22, 1984. I lived in Mineral Wells for the first six years of my life, and after finally landing in Georgia, I am now a freshman at Georgia Southern Un.
