I just got E-mail that stated an Ephraim Dyson married Malessa Ashworth on 7 Mar 1866 in Orange County, TX. This piqued my curiosity. My GGGF, William Ephrime Dyson, b. 1822, mar. first to Amanda _____, one child Martha; mar. second 1853 to Mary Jane Simmons, b. 1836. Some say that he and Mary Jane were separated, others say he died, or went to Texas. The only certain thing is that he was not with Mary Jane after the 1860 Franklin Parish, LA Census. She came home on horseback across the Dugemonga Swamp with her child William Hamilton Dyson, b. 18 Oct. 1854. William Hamilton was about 6-yrs at the time.

About 20-yrs back, some Dysons in Texas contacted my GF George Washington Dyson, Grant Parish, LA, about entering into a law suit over some oil rights on family property. These Texas Dysons claimed to be directly related to us.

In view of the above, I wonder what you might have on this Ephraim Dyson. It is possible that he might be my GGGF.

I am looking for information on James H. Moore who married Harriette Ashworth in Orange County, Texas in 1867.  I have been lead to believe that one of them is of Indian heritage (Red Stick or Red Bone tribe???).   They had a daughter by the name of Lula Moore who married Guy A. Fullerton.  I am trying to trace any native American heritage that may be on my wife's side of the family.
Thank you.  Brett Schormann  [email protected]
