PAMPA - Martha Jo Steele, 71, died Saturday, July 5, 2008.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Boys Ranch Cemetery at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Steele was born Nov. 5, 1936, in Oklahoma City and had lived in Pampa since 1988. She married Charles "Chuck" Steele on Aug. 10, 1955, in Alva, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1996.
She was a lifelong educator, most recently working for Pampa Independent School District as a diagnostician. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the orchestra ministry.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Langston and Suzy Taylor and husband Eddie, all of Amarillo; three sons, David Steele and wife Janie of Dalhart, Doug Steele and wife Lori of Bozeman, Mont., and Pat Steele and wife Shelly of Ponder; a sister, Nancy Woods and husband Al of Sun City West, Ariz.; two brothers, Pat McGinley and wife Jonila of Lake Way and Mike McGinley and wife Carlyn of Kiowa, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Music Ministry, 203 N. West St., Pampa, TX 79065.
