POSTCARDS WRITTEN BY ALLIE PERRY RICHARDS of Nacogdoches County

Events

  • Postcards written by Allie Perry RICHARDS of Nacogdoches County, Texas. Contributed by Debbie (Parker) Wayne.
Evvie is Emma Everette JOHNSON of Diboll, Angelina County, Texas, who he later married. Bennie JOHNSON is her brother. Evvie's papa referred to in the postcards is Henry Everette JOHNSON of Diboll, Angelina County, Texas. In addition to owning a livery stable in Lufkin for a time, Henry also worked building roads in East Texas and Arkansas. Allie may have worked for Henry for a time. It's interesting to note there appeared to be a lot of railway travel between Nacogdoches and Lufkin in the early 1900's for these families.
