BARBER, MARSHALL                                                                                July 22, 1930 � March 30, 2005

Services for Mr. Marshall Barber, 74, of Omaha, were Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield with the Rev. Bertrain Bailey officiating.  Mr. Barber was born July 22, 1930, in Morris County.  He died Thursday, March 24, 2005, in Mt. Pleasant.  He was a retired employee of Red River Army Depot.  Survivors include his wife, Vivian McCuin Barber of Omaha; two adoptive sons, Eddie Searcy and Jonathan McCuin Barber, both of Omaha; four step-children, Ida Matson of Mt. Pleasant, Donald McCuin of Houston, Patricia McCuin of Killeen and Travis McCuin of Omaha; three sisters, Annie Jones of Dallas, Ossie Pollard of Pomona, CA and Mary James of Pittsburg; two brothers, Hurndon Barber and Willie D Barber, both of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.  Interment was at Reynolds Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

Bass, Betty Ruth

Services for MRS. BETTY RUTH BASS, 75, of Daingerfield, will be conducted today, Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 2 pm at South Union Missionary Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Dr. Neal Clark and Dr. Elvin Crocker officiating.  Mrs. Bass was born April 15, 1929, in Morris County.  She died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Longview.  She was a member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the children�s Sunday School superintendent, church pianist and organist.  She taught private piano lessons in her home and at Lone Star Elementary School, was a member of Lone Star Eastern Star and retired employee of SWEPCO.  Survivors include her husband, Rex Bass of Daingerfield; two daughters, Aleeda Ruth Barton and Greta Smith, both of Longview; four grandchildren; one brother, Leahmon Lee of Longview; one sister, Joyce Farris of Lone Star.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartsway Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, Texas 75604.  Interment will be at Clark Cemetery in Daingerfield. BRYANT, W. C. �DUB�                                                                           January 12, 1946 � February 9, 2005

Services for Mr. W. C. �Dub� Bryant, 59, of Omaha, were Monday, Feb.14, 2005, at the Mt. Zion CME Church in Daingerfield, with the Rev. Jane M Nickleberry officiating.  Mr. Bryant was born Jan. 12, 1946, in Daingerfield.  He died Feb. 9, 2005, in a Paris, TX, hospital.  He was retired from Lone Star Steel Co. and was a veteran of the US Air Force.  Survivors include his wife, Doris Bryant of Omaha; two sons, William Jr. Bryant and Patrick Bryant of Killeen, TX; four daughters, Sandra Hopkins and Leslie Denmon of Dallas, Niakesha Douglas of Lone Star, and Danielle Bryant of Omaha; one sister, Jean mason of Daingerfield; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.  Burial was in Whitmore Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

Hill officiating.  Mr. Buford was born Mar. 4, 1947, in Marietta.  He died Thursday, May 5, 2005, in Mt. Pleasant.  He was retired from Red River Army Depot and a Vietnam veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Sally Buford of Naples; three sons, Marcus Hines of Wylie, Corey L. Hines and Arlander Buford, both of Naples; one daughter, Twanna Buford of Austin; his father, Lonnie Buford of Naples; one brother, Lloyd Buford of Naples; two sisters, Deborah Geneva Barbour of Naples and Nancy Buford of Longview; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.  Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

Services for Mrs. Imogene Calhoun, 78, of Many, LA, were Monday, September 19, 2005, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Blackeney officiating.  Mrs. Calhoun was born January 23, 1927, in Delight, AR.  She died Thursday, September 15, 2005, in Many, LA.  She was a retired florist, member of the Baptist Church, American Business Women�s Association and a former resident of DeKalb.  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Sharman Calhoun of Houston and Rodney and Janet Calhoun of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren, Kira, Tristan, Brittany, Brandon, Stacey and Cheryl; two sisters, Icilus Holloman and Renamay.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Services for Mr. Harris Cannon, 68, of Omaha, were Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Reeder-Davis Chapel with the Rev. J. N. Rochelle officiating.  Mr. Cannon was born March 1, 1937, in Cass County.  He died Monday, June 13, 2005 in Pittsburg.  Survivors include one son, Melvin Cannon of Conroe; one daughter, Ruby Lawton of Dallas; three sisters, Edwina C. Scales of Oxnard, CA, Jimmie Payne of Naples and Mary Ellen Maxwell of Winnetka, CA; three brothers, Will T. Services for Mr. Howard Carver, 71, of Omaha, were Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Naples with the Rev. Tim Edwards and Rev. Jack Cox officiating. Mr. Carver was born July 18, 1933, in Foreman, AR.  He died Saturday, April 9, 2005, in Bryan.  He attended Southern State University in Magnolia, AR, and East Texas State University at Commerce.  He was a retired coach, principal and superintendent at Paul Pewitt Schools, having served at Pewitt from 1961 to 1991.  He had coached in DeQueen and Foreman, AR.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Naples and the Belden Masonic Lodge.  Survivors include his wife, Martha Carver of Omaha; three sons and daughters-in-law, John Robert and Laticia Carver of Marietta, Wes and Janelle Carver of Bryan and Joe and Sharon Carver of Bryan; two brothers, Joe B. Carver of Horn Lake MS and Jimmy D Carver of West Chester OH; three sisters, Johnnie Estes of Ashdown, Jean Severns of Rockwell and Jane Bock of Clear Lake; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery. Services for MR. BOBBY DALE CLIMER, 52, of Marietta, were Friday, April 1, 2005, at Nail-Haggard Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Hall officiating.  Mr. Climer was born October 20, 1952, in Aubrey, AR.  He died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Tyler.  Survivors include one son, Tracey Climer of Marietta; two daughters, Stacey Climer and Michelle Climer, both of Marietta; his fianc�e and her daughter, Gay Morrison and Jessica Morrison, both of Marietta; four brothers, Wesley Climer of Brinkley, AR, Herchel Climer of Sanatobia, MS, Jerry Climer of Irvin, Rickey  Climer of Emory; four sisters, Tina Parker of Canton, Bonnie Joyner of Mt. Vernon, Dianna O�Dell of Ossulatomie, KS, and Brenda Norvell of Murchison; and two grandchildren.  He was superintendent of utilities for the City of Marietta.  He was preceded inn death by his parents, Rufus and Ruby Foster Climer; his wife, Cynthia; and daughter, Dana Climer.  Interment was at Clark Cemetery.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

Coker, Chester Milton

COKER, CHESTER MILTON                                                               January 11, 1925 � November 6, 2005

Services for Mr. Chester Milton Coker, 80, of Naples, were to be conducted Thursday, November 10, 2005, at 2:30 pm, at First Baptist Church in Naples with the Rev. Barry Brown and the Rev. William Coker officiating.  Mr. Coker was born January 11, 1925, in Naples.  He died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant, following a massive heart attack.  He was a graduate of Naples High School and Southern Methodist University.  He was the former president of Bowie County Savings & Loan and First State Bank of Bishop, a former owner of Coker Ford Agency in Naples, a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, a 50-year member of Belden Masonic Lodge of Naples, and a lifetime resident of Naples.  Mr. Coker had a lifelong passion for learning.  One could not visit with him for long that he wouldn�t bring up some new topic that he was exploring, or ask questions about some endeavor in which that person was involved.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Chester E. Coker.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed by family and friends.  Survivors include his wife, Chris Coker of Naples; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chester C. and Cynthia Coker of Corpus Christi, and Milton E. and Kelly Coker of Longview; one daughter and son-in-law, D. Lea and David Haywood of Dallas; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Blanche Coker of Pittsburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and Charles Coker of Naples; seven grandchildren, Jason Coker of Longview, Ehren Coker of Austin, K. C. Coker of San Francisco, Arielle Coker of Corpus Christi, Ashley, Jackie and April Adkins of Longview, and one great-grandchild, Kaleb Coker.  Interment was to be in Wilder Cemetery in Naples, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Service of Naples.  (Location Unknown)

Services for Mrs. Oletta Hampton Dalby, 96, of Daingerfield, were Saturday, January 29, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield with the Rev. Jim Jones officiating.  Mrs. Dalby was bor January 5, 1919, in Naples.  She died Monday, January 24, 2005, in Daingerfield.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and co-owner of J H Dalby General Merchandise with her late husband.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill Martin of Daingerfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Deryl and Gerry Dalby of Dallas; one brother, Robert Hampton of Shreveport; one sister, Naomi Thorton of Dallas; two grandsons and their spouses, Billy John and Jackie Martin of Daingerfield and Walter and Jill Martin of Argentian; and two great-grandchildren, Paul and Brian Martin, both of Daingerfield.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Dalby; one son, Richard Dalby; two sisters; and three brothers.  Interment was at Daingerfield Cemetery.  (TUR Sec Row 5)

Services for Mrs. Mary Bolin Davis, 95, of Omaha, were Saturday, December 24, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Keith Lauder officiating.  Mrs. Davis was born February 17, 1910, in Omaha.  She died December 23, 2005, in Omaha.  She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and a former resident of Houston.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Davis, her parents, one sister, two brothers, three nephews and one niece.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Frankie Chaloupka/Dorsett and Don Dorsett of Georgetown, TX; one sister, Frances Burnett of Omaha; one brother, Peter M. Bolin of Omaha; grandsons, Paul R. Wiley of Houston and W. Germon officiating.  Mr. Dixon was born November 9, 1962, in Omaha.  He died Monday, September 5, 2005, at his home.  He attended Paul H. Pewitt Schools and was a Baptist.  Survivors include his wife, Mildred Dixon; his mother, Maxine Dixon; one son, Regdreon Neal; four daughters, Tamico Perry, Brittenay Rowe, LaBraya Rogers and Brandace Rogers; three brothers, Benny Whetstone, Jerry Dixon and Kenneth Whetstone; four sisters, Joetta Dixon, Kimberley Adams, Bonnie K. Hannah and Melinda Neal; and one grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joe D. Services for Mrs. Maydelle Wright Ellis, 88, of Bastrop, formerly of Omaha, will be conducted Friday, February 25, 2005, at 10 am, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Cheatham officiating.  Mrs. Ellis was born April 28, 1916, in Omaha.  She died Monday, February 21, 2005, in Smithville.  She was a retired school teacher, member of the First Baptist Church of Omaha, Delta Kappa Gamma and a former resident of Omaha.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and G. T. Vickers of Bastrop; three grandchildren, Tresa Rogers of Cypress, Anthony Moore of Sugar Land and Todd Moore of Kay; and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Ellis.  Interment will be at Omaha Cemetery.  (K Row 6 BL22)

Fields, Wilma Harvey Ward Wilma (Harvey) Ward Fields, born August 31, 1924 in Horatio, Arkansas to William S. (Boss) and Pearlene Harvey; died  August 29, 2005 at home in Hughes Springs, TX .  She had Lou Gehrig�s disease.  Mrs. Fields was buried Wednesday August 31, 2005.  Interment was at Concord Cemetery.   She worked several years at Town East in Dallas; also for the nursery for the First Baptist Church in Wiley, TX.  She is survived by her husband, Johnny P.  (Huck) Fields of Hughes Springs; a sister Jean Smith of Mt. Pleasant; a brother and sister-in-law William (Bill) Harvey  and Etta Dell Harvey of Greenville. Two nephews and spouses, Tim & Jan Smith of Burleson & Billy & Lois Harvey of Biloxy, Mississippi;  two stepsons & wives Gary & Diana Fields of Mt. Pleasant & Pat & Sarah Fields of White Oak.  Brothers in-law and sisters-in-law Lois and Oliver McKeller of Pharr, TX; Geneva and Dub Mims of Euless, Edith and Lon St Clair of Garland, Betty and Bob Palistrant of Dallas, Eddie and Mary Lou Fields of Piermont, New Hampshire.  Also survived by four step-grandchildren and several step-nieces and nephews.  Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Ward, an infant son Lindle Ray Ward, a daughter Carol Ward Lake and her parents.   She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Concord Baptist Church and the Missionary Baptist Church of Hughes Springs.

Dwaine Higgins officiating.  Mrs. Finchum was born November 6, 1913, in Waldo, AR.  She died Friday, July 29, 2005, in Tyler.  She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Pewitt School, member of the First Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Omaha.  Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Thomas McCauley of Carrollton, Patricia and Roy Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Beverly and Mike Wieber of Loveland, CO; three sons and daughters-in-law, H. Milton and Lien T. Services for Mrs. Lillie Mable Forsythe, 97, of Rocky Branch, were Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with John Hooten officiating.  Mrs. Forsyth was born Dec. 20, 1907, in Hughes Springs.  She died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in Irving.  She was a member of Rocky Branch Church of Christ and a homemaker.  Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, LaVerne Hooten of Azel and Evelyn and Joe Hicks of Dallas; one son and daughter-in-law, Leo K Jr. and Sandra Forsyth of Rocky Branch; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.  Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery.  (NE Row 5)

Nolan Richey officiating.  Mrs. Forsyth was born October 1, 1910, in Lydia.  She died Sunday, April 3, 2005, in Omaha.  She was a homemaker, a member of Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, C. W. and Nanci Forsyth of Omaha; one daughter, Vera Faye Hall of Omaha; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death  by her husband, Charlie Forsyth; and son-in-law, J. Gibson, Mary Ann Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Gibson, 87, of New Iberia, Louisiana, were Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Horn officiating.  Graveside services were Friday, February 4, 2005, at Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating.  Mrs. Gibson was born July 14, 1917 in Jeanerette, Louisiana.  She died Monday,  January 31, 2005 in New Iberia. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Harold James and Betty Hymel of New Iberia and Daniel Joseph Hymel of Napoleonville, Louisiana; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Teresa Lancon of Lafayette, and Rita Pepper and Rena and Sam Delaney of Jeanerette; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-step-grandchildren.  Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband Vivian L. Gibson, November 21, 2001.

Mary Alice Ward Gill, 78, of Mount Pleasant, TX died April 1, 2005 in Mt. Pleasant.   She was born August 11, 1925 in Titus County, TX.  Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005 at Concord Cemetery.  Officiating was Rev. Don White.  Mrs. Gill was retired from Texas Instruments, Quality Control. Survivors include one son Paul Andrews of New Boston, TX; two daughters Becky Hendricks of Garland, TX; Ouida Marie Weems of Dallas; one brother, R. L. Brownlee of Mount Pleasant, TX; one brother and sister-in-law, Vic and Grace Ward of Yuma, AZ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Roland Smith of Tucson, AZ and Ouida and Steve Wallace of Mt. Pleasant, TX; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Gill was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos & Alice Ward and one son, Russell Andrews.  (Row 33)

"Goob" Autrey L. �Goob� Goodwin, Jr., 42, of Omaha, Texas died Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Mount Pleasant, TX.  He was a logging employee and a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church.  Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia Goodwin of Idabel, OK; one son, Matthew Goodwin of Idabel; his mother Bobbie Nell Goodwin of Omaha; two brothers, George A. Goodwin of Omaha and Roger Goodwin of Atlanta, GA; one grandson Geraldo Goodwin of Idabel; and a number of other relatives.  Memorial services were at 1:00 p.m.  at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Omaha, with the Rev. Glenn Griffith officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.

Store for 18 years.  She married Ben Grimes on Dec. 29, 1956, in Naples.  Survivors include her husband, Ben Grimes of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Angie Grimes of Red Oak; one sister, Alice Faye Williams of Naples; three grandchildren, Brady Grimes, Riley Grimes and Jake Grimes; and several nieces and nephews.  Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Mickey Carter, Todd Ranes, Billy Batchelor, Rex Ranes, Hershel Welch and Curtis Freeman.  (NE Row 9)

Hillis Jr. of Mt. Memorial services for Lt. Col. Jamie Patrick (Jim Pat) Longino, 61, of Tucson, Arizona, will be conducted Sunday, March 20, 2005, at 2 pm at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Lanny Peek officiating.  Mr. Longino was born June 11, 1943, in Texarkana, to Charlotte and Clifford Longino.  He died of cancer Tuesday, March 1, 2005.  He was a 1961 graduate of Pewitt High School and a 1966 graduate of East Texas Baptist College with a degree in music.  While attending college he served as a music director for Reading Avenue Baptist Church in Texarkana and First Baptist in Naples.  In 1966 he began his military career in the United State Air Force music program, graduated as 2nd lieutenant from Officer�s Training School, received the Meritorious Service medal four times, Air Force Commendation medal and National Defense Service medal. After retirement in 1986 as lieutenant colonel he was a commercial mortgage broker, member of the Better Business Bureau, Tucson Business Coalition and Tucson Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Colleen of Tucson; one sister, Minerva Longino of Houston; and a number of cousins.  He was honored with a full military funeral, with color guard, on March 8, 2005, in Tucson, Arizona.  Interment was at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Pleasant on September 7, 1947.  They celebrated 57 years of marriage.  During that time, she was a homemaker and also an employee of Texas Eastman for 23 years where she was supervisor of transportation services.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Longview for 54 years, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Heritage Bible Study, High Hopes Garden Club, a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, and a life master of duplicate bridge.  Mrs. Redfearn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arvin Redfearn.  Survivors include a sister, Louise Baird of Chapel Hill, NC; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Karen Redfearn of Kansas City, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and James Oliver of Marble Falls, TX; three grandchildren, Julie L. Parker, Laurie V. Parker and David T. Redfearn and wife, Sheri; one great-granddaughter, Carolyn Louisa Parker-Hileman; and many relatives and friends.  Burial was February 7, at the Omaha Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were nephews, the Rev. John Noble Redfearn, Joe Garrett Redfearn, Benny Joe Redfearn, Scott Redfearn, Patrick Redfearn, and Garrett Redfearn.  Honorary pallbearers included James Redfearn, Connor Redfearn, Dr. Lloyd Legg, Jim Fred Russell, J. Services for Mrs. Orene Slider, 82, of Naples, were to be conducted Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 11 am, at First United Methodist Church in Naples with the Rev. Dr. Tim Edwards officiating.  Mrs. Slider was born November 27, 1922, in Naples, to Emmett and Carrie Fleming.  She died Monday, September 26, 2005 at her home following a lengthy illness.  She grew up in the Naples area and attended Naples High School, graduating in 1940.  After high school she attended East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, TX, and then the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR.  Mrs. Slider started teaching in 1943 at James Bowie High School in Simms, TX, and taught there for five years.  In 1948 she married James Lenoy Slider and they were blessed with a daughter, Sheri Jan Slider Estes.  After teaching at James Bowie High School, she taught at Linden High School in Linden, TX, and upon leaving there, began her teaching career at Paul Pewitt High School where she had an illustrious career.  Mrs. Slider retired in 1981 after 37 years as a teacher.  During her years as a teacher, she taught high school English, business English and Spanish.  Following her retirement, she kept busy doing volunteer work at local nursing homes.  She was involved with church activities at the First United Methodist Church in Naples and served as president of the Sunshine Class, chairman of Evangelism, and other things for the church as needed.  She was a charter member of the Jonquil Garden Club and a member of the Pewitt CISD Education Foundation.  She was a charter member of the Naples Eastern Star, Morris County Retired Teachers Association, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Martha Laird Chapter D.A.R.  In June, Mrs. Slider was honored by the Pewitt Foundation Association as its �teacher of the year� at the group�s annual gala event.  A few years earlier she was honored as Naples� �citizen of the year� by the Naples Chamber of Commerce.  Survivors include one daughter, Sheri Slider Estes of Austin; one brother, Kennard Fleming of Dallas; and one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amy Estes Alexander and Davin Alexander of Rosebud.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lenoy Slider, on August 4, 1990, and also by her parents.  Interment was to be at the Naples Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Service of Naples.  Pallbearers were to include Bruce Vinson, Jim Vinson, Rich Vinson, J. Norman Fry officiating.  Mrs. Tindall was born December 19, 1910, in Omaha.  She died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at her home.  She attended Omaha School in her early teens, moved to Glen Rose, where she graduated valedictorian of her class, attended Clifton Lutheran College and represented Glen Rose in the Miss Texas Pageant in 1929.  She maintained homes in Corpus Christi and Omaha from 1980 until 2001.  She lived the last four years of her life in Friendswood where she was close to her children.  She was a lifetime member of OSO Chapter No. 868 Order of the Eastern Star and proud member of the Daughters of the Confederacy.  Survivors include her sons, Richard A. Services for Mrs. Otha Whetstone, 74, of Naples will be Saturday, June 25, 2005, at 1 pm, at Morning Star Baptist Church.  Mrs. Whetstone was born September 28, 1929 in Naples.  She died Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Naples.  She was retired from Lone Star Steel, member of Morning Star Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Naples.  Survivors include her husband, William Whetstone of Naples; two sons, George Murphy of Texarkana and Michael Lovelace of Naples; one sister, Versie Conway; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  Interment was at Morning Star Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

Services for Mr. Stevie Bernard Whetstone, 43, of Naples, will be conducted Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 11 am at New Testament Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Rochelle officiating.  Mr. Whetstone was born February 8, 1961 in Atlanta to Carolyn and Benny Whetstone.  He died Friday, August 27, 2004 in Mt. Pleasant.  He graduated from Pewitt High School, was a US Army veteran and member of New Testament Baptist Church.  Survivors include one daughter, Shalonda Whetstone of Daingerfield; two sons, Stevie Whetstone of Daingerfield and Joshua Whetstone of Austin; his mother, Carolyn Faye Whetstone of Naples; his father, Billy Whetstone, Sr. of Killeen; grandmothers, Jimmie Payne of Naples and Lottie Whetstone of Topeka, KS; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Whetstone, Jr. of Naples, Ronald and Kim Whetstone, Michael Whetstone and Darrell and Robbie Whetstone, all of Topeka, KS; Anthony and Rennee Whetstone of Texarkana and Keith Whetstone of Killeen; four sisters and brother-in-law, Shawna Whetstone of Naples, Rolanda and Robert Peoples of Longview, Elizabeth Whetstone of Dallas and Michelle Whetstone of Killeen; and a host of other relatives and friends.  Pallbearers will include Barry Whetstone, Robert Peoples, Lawrence Betts, Brian Hill, Bobby Whetstone, Jr. and Jermaine Whetstone.  Honorary pallbearers will include Gregory Payne, Ronald Whetstone, James Payne, Billy Whetstone, Jr., Darrell Whetstone, Bobby Whetstone, Sr., Weldon Wilkerson and Johnny Thomas.  Interment will be at Morning Star Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

Services for Mr. Oran Whiteaker, 73, of Humble, were Friday, January 14, 2005, at Daniels Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Lanny Peek officiating.  Mr. Whiteaker was born March 29, 1931, in Midland.  He died Monday, January 10, 2005, in Houston.  He was a retired florist and a veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Peggy Williams Whiteaker of Humble; one son, Bobby Whiteaker of Humble; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeana Gail and Ric Vanover of Humble; five sisters, Inez Osborn of Washougal, WA, Geraldine Winn of Arlington, JoAnn Jones of New Braunfels, Sue Waldon of Odessa and Bonnie Tilley of Arlington; three grandsons, Blake, Bryan and Britt Vanover; and five great-grandchildren.  Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery near Naples.   (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

Services for Mr. Jimmy Witt, 61, of Omaha, were Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel.  Military services were conducted by a military Honor Guard from Hughes Springs, under the direction of Mr. Charles Wallace.  Mr. Witt was born March 21, 1943, in Omaha.  He died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in Mt. Pleasant.  He was a rural mail carrier, a Vietnam veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church, member of the Texas Rural Letter Carriers and a lifetime resident of Omaha.  Survivors include his mother, June Brown Witt of Omaha; two sisters, DeEtte Witt Endsley and Diane Witt, both of Omaha; one brother, Stanley Witt of Grand Prairie; nieces and nephews, Kyle Nieman, Phillip Endsley, Cliff Witt, Lana Witt Bray, Dan Nieman, Erin Endsley Landrum, Clay Witt and Tammy Bledsoe; a special great-nephew, Alston James Landrum.  Interment was at Omaha Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Phillip Endsley, Clay Witt, Paul Witt, Dan Nieman, Doyce Martin, Mickey Charlton, William Pope and Billy Richardson.  (J Row 7 BL 17)

Services for Mrs. Shirley M. Lewis Woodard , 79, of DeKalb, were Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating.  Mrs. Woodard was born August 28, 1915, in Naples.  She died Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home.  She was a homemaker and a Methodist.  Survivors include her husband, Willie Woodard of DeKalb; two daughters and son-in-law, Linda Osmon of Naples and Norma and James Storie of Linden; three brothers, Ray Lewis of Chandler, AZ, Bill Lewis of Emory and Ronald Lewis of Houston; two granddaughters, Marlene Crocker of Naples and Marilyn Boney of Linden; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Norman Shankles, in 1969.  Interment was at Naples Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Bobbie Pugh, Randy Barrett, Junior Boney, Willie Storie, Travis Wiswall and Charles Provins.
