Services for Mr. Melvin Eugene �Gene� Adcock, 71, of Daingerfield, were
held Saturday, August 7, 1999 at Bradfield Chapel Methodist Church with
the Rev. Ernest Harris officiating. Mr. Adcock was born September 24,
1927 in Bessemer, AL and died Wednesday, August 4, 1999 in Longview. He
was a member of the Bradfield Chapel Methodist Church and the United
Steelworkers of America. He was retired from Lone Star Steel.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Michael McLarty
of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jean Marie Starling of Gulfport, MS; one
sister, Mary Edna Wright of Manchester, TN; one granddaughter and two
grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Marie Adcock.
Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs. (Location

Mr. Barber was born March 3, 1942, in Marietta. He died Sunday, August
1, 1999 in Mt. Pleasant. He was a maintenance worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Evada Barber of Naples; three sisters,
Vertis Whetstone of Naples, Delois Connally of Dallas and Marcel Wilson

Sibyl Beasley, 94, died Sunday, January 3, 1999, at the SunRise Care and
Rehabilitation Center of Omaha. Mrs. Beasley was born November 19, 1904 in
Omaha. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was preceded in death by
her husband W. M. Beasley in 1991. Survivors include two sons and
daughters-in-law, W. C. and Rowene Beasley and Thomas and Marie Beasley of
Omaha; three grandchildren Dr. Billy C. Beasley of Oak Grove, LA., Penny Ann
Knight of Naples and Mary Kay Cline of Omaha; six great-grandchildren. Services
were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 5 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment was at Concord Cemetery. |

was held in Morning Star Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.
Mrs. Bray was born June 1, 1920, in Dalby Springs. She was a homemaker
and member of Norris S. Curry CME Church. Survivors include one brother
and sister-in-law, Albert and Patricia Lollis of Texarkana; one special
cousin, Willie Pearl Boyd of Naples; and a number of other relatives.

1999 at Spring Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Brumley was born Feb 10, 1918, in
Omaha. She died Saturday, March 20,1999, in a Dallas nursing home.
Mrs. Brumley was a member of New Londaon Baptist Church and the Order of
the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt
Brumley and one son, Harold. Survivors include four sons, Rex of TN,
Richard of Anahuac, Wayne of Dallas and Gary of Corpus Christi; four
daughters and two sons-in-law, Hazel Harvey of Gatesville, Joy and Bill
Taylor of Bulverde, Jean Thornton of Great Falls, MT, and Virginia and
Lewis Collins of Livingston; and a number of grand-and
great-grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Alexander

Maude Carlile, 69, of Henderson were Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999 at Bryan
Chapel with Maurice Hill officiating. Ms. Carlile was born June 14,
1930 in Pittsburg. She died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999 at Henderson
Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Trinity
Baptist Church, and a retired beautician. She had lived in Henderson
for seven years and was a former resident of Naples. Survivors include
two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Nickle Carlile of Pittsburg,
Roger and Becky Carlile of Henderson; grandchildren, Roger Jr. and
Rebekah Carlile, Christal and Joshua Carlile, all of Henderson, Buck and
Bailey Carlile of Pittsburg; one great-grandson, Cannon Wayne Carlile of

officiating. Mrs. Carr was born May 18, 1906 in AL; she died Friday,
Sep.10, 1999 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Omaha. She was a
member of the Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Rocky Branch.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Grubbs and Virgie White, both of
Hughes Springs; two sons, James Carr of Hughes Spring and Richard Carr
of Longview; 20 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 17
great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Jimmy Carr; one son, Cecil Hilton; four grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Calvin Grubbs, Robert Grubbs,
Jeremy White, Mark Carr, James Earl Carr, Cecil Gordon Carr, honorary
pallbearers were Jeffrey Wayne Richardson and Royce Gayland Carr.

Craig, age 93, of Texarkana, died Sunday, February 21, 1999 in a local
hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held today,
Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at 10 am in the Texarkana Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Larry Sims and John Pigg officiating. Burial will be
in Spring Hill Cemetery in Naples. Mrs. Craig was born July 29, 1905 in
Cleveland, and had lived in Texarkana since 1972. She was a beloved
wife, mother, school teacher and principal and was a member of the
Walnut Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert Shelby Craig, who died in 1988, and a son-in-law, Edward
Virgin Kemp, who died in 1997. She is survived by three daughters and
two sons-in-law, Patricia Yvonne Craig Coker and Jack Coker of
Texarkana, Margaret Lee Craig Kemp of Ruston, LA., and Shelby Jean Craig
Levy and Robert Levy of Houston; 9 grandchildren and their spouses-Leon
Jackson Coker, III; Michael Craig Coker and wife, Jane Hartley Coker;
Elizabeth Craig Kemp; Kimberly Craig Kemp Hall and husband, Jamie Hall;
Jennefer Leslee Kemp; Robert Edward Kemp and wife, Mary Lynn Schroeder

Services for Mr. Robert S. Critz, 84,
were December 3, 1999 at Sparkman Crane Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Critz
was born March 30, 1515 in Addaton, Mississippi. He died December 1,
1999 after a lengthy illness. He served in the U. S. Army in World War
II and was a member of Disabled Veterans 175 and American Legion 511.
He was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ and he also was a
volunteer at the Veteran's Administration Hospital for 20 years. He is
survived by his wife, Kathleen Vaughn Price Critz; a stepdaughter, Debi
Bulin, a brother Alvin Curtis Critz; three sisters, Edna Pope, Olean
Yates and Bess Josey, several nieces and nephews. Mrs Jerry Linker
officiated. Graveside and interment services were at Concord Cemetery,
Omaha, Texas. |

1913 in Omaha; he died Thursday, August 19, 1999 in Omaha. He was a
rancher and retired carpenter, a member and deacon of the Mt. Moriah
Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Omaha. He and Ione were
married 62 years, 9 months and 17 days. Survivors include his wife,
Ione Causey Derrick of Omaha; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and
Sharon Derrick of Omaha; two daughters and son-in-law, Mary Beth Wilson
of Texarkana, Linda Lou and Pat Burke of Texarkana; one brother, Harold
Derrick of Bryans Mill; two sisters, Beulah Goodwin of Cookville, Helen
Measley of Omaha; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Damien Dimaggio, Jeff Derrick, Richard Wilson, John

Daingerfield, the daughter of Charlie and Josie Douglas. She died
Monday, May 3, 1999, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield and had
worked as a production worker at Pilgrim�s Pride Corp. for 18 years.
She is survived by her mother, Josie M. Searcy of Daingerfield; sons
Michael J Douglas and Willie D Douglas, both of Omaha; daughter Bobbie
Ann Douglas of Omaha; brothers Charlie Douglas Jr., John L Douglas, both
of Daingerfield, J.T. Shaw, Sammie Mike, both of Pittsburg, and James F
Shaw of Dallas; sisters Charlie Mae Crowe of Lone Star, Mary L. Epps,
Linda Smith, both of Daingerfield, Helen F. Flemming of Mims, Ethel F
Stern, Rosemary Shaw, Jolynn Nelson, all of Dallas and Julie Searcy of
Jacksonville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and special
friend Willie George Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her father
and one son, William Charles Douglas. Pallbearers were Tony Walker,

Services for Mrs. Winnie Lou Mitchell Garrett, 86,
of Naples, were held Friday, April 2, 1999, at the Naples First Baptist

officiating. Mrs. Garrett was born Nov. 17, 1912 in Bodcow, AR. She
died Wednesday, Mar. 31, 1999 at Redbud Retreat Nursing Home in Naples.
She married Leon Garrett Aug. 15, 1931. They were the owners of
Garrett�s Department Store in Naples for many years. She was a member
of the Naples First Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Naples.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, on June 28, 1989. Mrs.
Garrett is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Marcel
Garrett of Naples and Hershel and Linda Garrett of Nashville, AR; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Lavenia and Robert Jordan of Hensley, AR and
Linda and Tom Malin of Cabot, AR; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kevin Malin, Jimmy England, Brian
England, Joe Mitchell England, Thomas Pearson and Earl Downs. Honorary

with the Rev. Dr. Dan Darby officiating. Burial was in the Vissering
Cemetery near Naples, under the direction of Alexander Funeral home,
Inc., of Naples. Mr. Harte, born March 30, 1925, in Naples, was a
retired employee of Lone Star Steel Co., an avid cattleman and rancher,
and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Naples. He was
preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jo, and a brother, Clayton.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Craig Garner of
Jacksonville; a granddaughter, Whittney Garner of Jacksonville; a sister
and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Ben Best of Naples; a brother and
sister-in-law, Forrest and Iris Harte of Lone Star; a number of nieces
and nephews; and two special friends, Barbara Mongognia and Willie Pearl

resident of Naples. Mr. Jacobs is survived by his wife, Emma Paralee
Cobb Jacobs of Naples; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Linda
Jacobs of Houston and Charles and Dorothy Johnson of Naples; four
daughters, Wanda and Glenn Ragland of Naples, Judy and Bill Robison of
Marietta, Marion and Odell Birmingham of Greenville, and Ann Ellis of
Campbell; one brother, Leonard Jacobs of Hughes Springs; three sisters,

of Conroe; six grandchildren, Jody Leeves of Naples, Dr. Jan Ann

Zarella of Spring and Donna Leeves of Dallas; and six
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.

Texas Health Center in Tyler. Services were held at 10 am Thursday,
July 1, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Neal
Thornburgh officiating. Mrs. Lohmann was born November 25, 1907 in
Omaha. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Omaha, the
PEO Sisterhood in Daingerfield and a former resident of El Paso.
Survivors include one daughter, Nona K Denman of Winnsboro; one
brother and sister-in-law, W. C. and Jerry Stevens of Omaha; four
grandchildren, Gay Norris of Los Angeles, CA, Sam Norris III of
Palmdale, CA, Kathleen Long of San Mateo, CA., and Marty Sample of
Pittsford, NY; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Norris and Ben
Norris both of Caliente, CA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr.
Willie Stigers, 89, of Naples, were held Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at
Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. C. E. Williams
officiating. Mr. Stigers was born Jan. 22, 1910, in Naples. He
died Friday, April 30, 1999 in an area hospital. He was a retired
construction worker, member and deacon of Morning Star Baptist
Church, chairman of the deacon board and groundskeeper. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Stigers; one son, Willie
Stigers, Jr.; and one daughters, Fayrene Buster. Survivors include
two daughters, Nadine Warren of Wichita Falls, and Iva Jean Harris
of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Burial
was held in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Tumey

JACK TIGERT, 70, of
Athens, Georgia, formerly of Daingerfield, died Sunday, Jan. 10,
1999, in Atlanta. Services were held at 10 am Friday at
Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Stone
officiating. Burial was held in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Tigert
was born April 28, 1928, in Morris County. He was a Baptist and a
World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Tigert
of Athens; one daughter, Margarette Lockhart of Terrell; one son,
Richard Tigert of Mandeville, La.; four brothers, Norris Tigert of
Mount Pleasant, Marvin Tigert of Aurora, CO, Dale Tigert of
Beaumont, and Bobby Tigert of Fayetteville, NC; four sisters, Sue
Gossett of Pittsburg, Allie Tosh and Dovie Knight of Mt. Pleasant

Services for Mrs. Leola Turner, 89, of Omaha,
were Tuesday, July 12, 1999 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in
Hughes Springs with the Rev. Lucky Randall officiating. Mrs. Turner
was born Aug. 23, 1909 in Morris Co. She died Friday, July 9, 1999
at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Daniel R and Mary Arthur
of Daingerfield; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen J and Floyd Walker
of Daingerfield; three brothers, O. J. Arthur of Omaha, Norris
Fleming of Abilene, H. B. Fleming of KY; six sisters, Leoitus Brooks
of Dallas, Imogene Hill of Dallas, Charlie Mae York of Niagra Falls
NY, Lois Elliott of Mt. Pleasant, Lillie Luster of Mt. Pleasant;
five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Interment was at

Vickers, George Henry |
George Henry Vickers, 85, of
Shreveport, LA, a native of Omaha and former resident of Mt. Pleasant,
died Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont.
Funeral Services will e held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2 at Rose-Neath
Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Dr. John
Stubblefield, pastor of First Baptist Church of Shreveport, LA will
officiate. Ray Boswell will assist. Interment will be at
Concord Cemetery near Omaha. Pallbearers will be Jim Stround, Bob
Allen, Curtis Petrey, Joe Fotson, Bob Kyle and David Wells.
Honorary pall bearers will be Bill Duncan's Sunday School Class of
First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Mr. Vickers was born in Omaha,
the son of Tarrant O. Vickers and Lula Garrett Vickers. He was a
former resident of Mt. Pleasant and had lived in Shreveport for 58
years. Mr. Vickers was a master mechanic and service manager for
the Chrysler Corp. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mr Vickers was a Master Mason. He is survived by his wife of
nearly 62 years Ruth Skipper Vickers of Shreveport, LA; son and
daughter-in-law George M. and Margaret Ann Vickers of Stuttgart, AR; son
Paul Kenneth Vickers of Minden, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law retired
USAF Col Lehman and Dorothy Vickers of CA, and T. O. and Norma Vickers,
Jr. of Centerville, UT; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
parents. |

Lucille Viser of Schertz and formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, January
5, 1999 in Schertz. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8
at Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home. The family received visitors from 7 - 9
p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. |

Effie Wallace 90, of Omaha were held
Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at the Alexander Chapel Funeral Home with Rev.
Nolan Richey and Rev. Sam Reeves officiating. Mrs. Wallace was born
September 8, 1909 in Cornelia (Habersham County) GA. She died
Sunday May 23, 1999 at the Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, TX. She
was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and a long time resident
of Omaha and DeKalb. Survivors include three daughters and
sons-in-laws Kathleen and Boyd McMillan of DeKalb, Mary Clea and D.
C. Morris of Texarkana and Ann Murphy of Branson, MO; 9
grandchildren; 17 great grand children and one sister Bessie
Calloway of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert
W. Wallace, Her father and mother Jonah and Lela Collins Parker;
brothers Oscar Parker, Emery Parker and Gus Parker and sisters
Demmie Parker Morris, and Alene Parker Boozer. |

T. Webster, 72, of Naples were Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999 at Antioch
Baptist Church in Naples with Elder L. C. Webster and the Rev. James
Boyce officiating. Mr. Webster was born June 31, 1927 in Titus Co.
He died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999 at Titus Regional Medical Center.
He was retired from Red River Army Depot and a member of Church of
God in Christ. Survivors include five sons, Elder L. C. Webster of
Hallsville, Charles Webster of Longview, David Webster and Kenny
Webster of Naples; Glen Webster of Tulsa, OK; five daughters, Nell
Brown, Gayle McClarron and Sherry Webster of Longview, Grace Jackson
of Hallsville; Doris Johnson of Daingerfield; one sister, Beaulah
Black of Marietta; one brother, the Rev. James Webster of Mt.
Pleasant; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Burial was
at Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of James E. Lister

Witt, 80, of Omaha were held Tuesday, April 13, 1999 at Alexander
Funeral Home Chapel in Naples. Mr. Witt was born August 11, 1918 in
Omaha. He died Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Titus Regional Medical
Center in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Witt was owner and operator of Witts
Mobile Home Park, a member of the First Baptist Church and a
lifetime resident of Omaha. Survivors include his wife, June BROWN
Witt of Omaha; two daughters and son-in-law, DeEtte and Jimmy
Endsley and Diane Witt all of Omaha; two sons, Jimmy Witt of Omaha
and Stanley Witt of Ft. Worth; 7 grandchildren, Phillip Endsley and
wife Jennifer of Dallas, Erin Endsley of Omaha, Cliff Witt and Clay
Witt both of Ft. Worth, Lana Witt of Rowlett, Daniel James Nieman of
Rockford, IL, and Kyle Nieman of Omaha; two sisters, Vineta Witt
Ketner of Ventura, CA and Verna Witt Ridings of Richardson.

Mary E. Witt, 86, of Omaha, were Sunday, July 18, 1999, at the
Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Neal
Thornburgh officiating. Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery. Mrs.
Witt was born June 23, 1913, in Mt. Vernon. She died Friday, July
16, 1999 at SunRise Healthcare and Rehabilitation at Omaha. She was
a retired dress shop owner and a telephone operator. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church, and a longtime resident of
Omaha. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Othalene Witt and
Zelma Witt, both of Omaha; and one niece, Mary Jo Hagler of Gilmer.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Lineberger, David Coffey, Bill
Thompson, Jimmy Witt, Bud Joyner and Johnny Joyner. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Eddie E Witt; they were married

Frank Wommack, 78, of Longview, were Saturday, July 17, 1999 at the

born May 28, 1921, in Naples. He died Thursday, July 15, at his
residence in Longview. He was a retired employee of
Atlantic-Richfield Co., a member of the Winterfield United Methodist
Church, a veteran of World War II, and a former resident of Naples.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Wommack. Survivors
include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lisa Wommack of Longview;
two sisters, Era Jane Ellis of Omaha, and Dorothy Padermos of
Kennendale; and four grandchildren, Erin Wommack, Alexandra Wommack,

Services for William
Victor Wommack, 86, of Lafayette, LA were conducted Thursday,
January 21, 1999 at the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Mr. Wommack
was a native of Naples, the son of the late William Madison Wommack
of Naples and the former Era Inez Henderson of Daingerfield. He had
been a resident of Lafayette since November of 1956. He died
Wednesday, Jan 20, 1999 in Lafayette. Mr. Wommack retired in 1977
from Atlantic Richfield Co. He was a member of the Asbury United
Methodist Church, International Oil Scout Association, Arc Retireee
Club and a former member of Acadian Hills Golf Club. Survivors
include his wife, the former Valeria Blankenship of Lafayette; one
daughter and her husband, Vickie W. and David Perry of Biloxi, MS;
two sisters, Era Jane W. Ellis of Omaha and Dorothy Alice W.
Padermos of Kennedale; one brother, James Frank Wommack of Longview
and one grandson, Victor Scott Perry of Biloxi, MS. He was preceded
in death by his parents; two sisters, Laverne Beasley and Annie Mae
Landrum; and one brother, Ray Wommack. Interment was Friday, Jan.
20, 1999 in the Naples Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers wee Weber
Borrell, Louis Noel, Francis Broussard, Lynn Broussard, Ronald
Sarver and Buck Ballard. Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette was in

retired employee of Lone Star Steel, Mr. Bentley Wright, 90, of
Omaha, were Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at Concord Baptist Church.
Mr. Wright was born October 22, 1909 in Omaha. He died Sunday,
November 14, 1999 in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Concord
Baptist Church, and a 50-year member of the David Elliott Masonic
Lodge. He was a lifetime resident of Omaha. Survivors include one
son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Brenda Wright of Omaha;
daughter-in-law, Shirley Wright of Omaha; two brothers, Leslie
Wright of Tyler and Billy Tob Wright of Tyler; five grand-children,
Steve Wright of Tyler, Mark and Sandy Wright of Longview, Tracy and
Michael Jarvis of Omaha, Christy and Michael Mershawn of Rockwall
and Rhonda Wright of Redwater; nine great-grandchildren, Justin and
Stephanie Wright of Redwater, Abby and Daniel Wright of Mt.
Pleasanat, Caleb, Colin and Callie Wright of Longview and Donavan
and Megan Jarvis of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Lucille Ponder Wright; a son, Glen Wright and grandson, Larry
Wright. Pallbearers were Steve Wright, Mark Wright, Justin Wright,
Michael Jarvis, Michael Mershawn, Raymond Lee Walker and David Allen
Wright. Internment was in Concord Cemetery. The Reverends Nolan
Richey and Glenn Griffith officiated. |
