Ball, Vera Lynn Honea Vera Lynn Honea Ball, 76, of Omaha, died Saturday, July 19, 1997 in Kingwood.  Graveside services were held Monday, July 21 at Concord Cemetery.  Officiating was Bro. Nolan Richey.  Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home was in charge  of arrangements.  Born July 24, 1920 in Hallsville, Mrs. Ball was a nurse and a member of Concord Baptist Church.  Survivors include daughter Frances Ann Hume of Evanston, IL; daughter and son-in-law Glenda Claire and Tom Butler of Kingwood; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Mary Kathryn Honea of Santa Fe, TX; sister and brother-in-law Edith Elizabeth and C. M. Hall of Santa, TX; and grandchildren Deanna Lynn Hall of Chicago and Elizabeth DeLee Buther of Kingwood.  She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Lee Ball, parents Justice Lynn Honea and Tina Johnson Honea and grandsons Byron and John Butler.

Almaleen Welch Bartunek, 84, of Omaha, died Sunday, August 24, 1997, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Omaha.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Wednesday, August 27, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Janet Blackburn officiating.  Mrs. Bartunek was a retired florist, a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, and was a longtime resident of Omaha.  Survivors include one brother, John A Welch of Dallas; and two nephews, David Welch and Tom Welch of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Joe Bartunek.  Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Walker, Auvis Hampton, Bill Atkinson, John Kirk, David Welch and Tom Welch.  (E Row 10)

Thelma Strickland Beauchamp, 89, of Naples, died Wednesday, October 1, 1997, at Redbud Retreat Nursing home in Naples.  Graveside services, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples, were at 2 pm, Friday, October 3, at the Naples Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Harty officiating.  Mrs. Beauchamp was born May 26, 1908, in Naples, and was a lifetime resident of Naples.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Survivors include a daughter  and son-in-law, Martha and Joe Starrett of Daingerfield; two sisters, Mildred Evans and Ceil Porter Atterbury, both of Longview; and a granddaughter and husband, Danna and Brent Nelson of Tyler.  (A Row 22)

Novella Richardson Brown, 73, of Naples, died Monday, October 27, 1997, at Mother Frances Medical Center in Tyler.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Thursday, October 30, at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Pleas Layne officiating.  Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery near Naples, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Service of Naples.  Mrs. Brown was born March 22, 1924, at Ore City.  She was a member of the Rocky Point Congregational Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of Naples.  Survivors include her husband, James Weldon Brown of Naples; one son, Ricky Beggs of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Doris Beggs of Kilgore; two grandsons, Blake Beggs of McKinney, and Richard Miller of Tyler; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Tom Davis of McKinney; two step granddaughters, Malia and Kattie Davis of McKinney; a sister, Carrie Maude Carlile of Henderson; and a brother, L. Frankie Steelman Burch, 66, a former resident of Omaha, died Friday, August 29, 1997, at Columbia Medical Center in Arlington.  Funeral services were at 1:30 pm, Saturday, August 30, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington, with the Rev. Dwight Thornton and the Rev. Dwaine Higgins officiating.  Interment followed at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, with nephews serving as pallbearers.  Mrs. Burch was born November 14, 1930, in Omaha, and was a graduate of Omaha High School.  She was a longtime employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company of Dallas.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Burch of Arlington; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Evelyn Burch of Arlington; two grandsons, Ryan and Jamie Burch of Arlington; two sisters, Marlene Higgins of Naples, and Deen Horton of Mt. Pleasant; three nieces; and two nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Cook Steelman, longtime residents of the Concord Community near Omaha.

Carpenter, Wilson

Wilson Carpenter, 80, of Naples, died Friday, November 14, 1997, at his home.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Wednesday, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Naples, with the Rev. James E. Boyce officiating.  Burial was in the Morning Star Cemetery at Naples.  Mr. Carpenter was born March 10, 1917, in Omaha.  He was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Carpenter of Naples who he married November 12, 1938; a brother, Milton Carpenter of Naples; and one sister, Leverda Smith of Naples.  (Section C, L South Side)

Crossett, Margaret Stewart

CROSSETT, MARGARET STEWART                                                    July 28, 1906 � October 1, 1997

Margaret Stewart Crossett, a longtime resident of McCrory, AR, a former educator and a member of a family long active in the business and agricultural activities of Woodruff County, died Wednesday, October 1, 1997, at her residence.  She was 91 years of age and died following an extended illness.  Funeral services were conducted at 10 am, Saturday, October 4, at the graveside with the Rev. Marcia Dodd, pastor of the McCrory United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment was in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodruff County, under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory.  Mrs. Crossett was born July 28, 1906, in Naples, TX, the daughter of the late James and Dixie Whatley Stewart.  She attended schools in Naples, and continued her education at East Texas State Teachers� College.  She moved  to Woodruff County as a young person and in earlier years was an elementary school teacher and librarian in McCrory.  She was married June 20, 1928, to Joseph Harton Crossett who was a Woodruss County landowner and associated with the Fakes Mercantile Company in McCrory.  He preceded her I death on May 28, 1979.  She was a longtime member of the McCrory United Methodist Church and the Women�s Missionary Society of the church.  Mrs. Crossett is survived by one daughter, Mary Comer of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Mrs. Marion Leeves of Naples; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Jody Crossett.  Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Crossett, Joseph H. Crossett Jr., Duane Fraser, Rudy Fraser, Larry Holleman and Jerry Smith.

Bessie Mae Crow, 86, of Naples, died Sunday, August 31, 1997, at her home.  Funeral Services were at 2 pm, Tuesday, September 2, at the Rocky Branch Church of Christ with Bro. John Hooten officiating.  Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Crow was born December 28, 1910, at Marietta, TX.  She was a member of the Rocky Branch Church of Christ, and a lifetime resident of the Rocky Branch community.  She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nita Beth and J. Roy Traylor of Naples, one son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Jane Crow of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Chet Havenstrite of Austin, Darla Hollingsworth of Dallas, Janet E. Ragland of Naples, and Renita Jyl Wook of Pittsburg; one sister, Addie Lee Lindsey of Dallas; and eight great-grandchildren.  Serving as pallbearers were Jack Traylor, Casey Traylor, George E. Myra Elizabeth Austin Cunningham, born March 15, 1912, in Naples, to John Henry and Lunetta Kesseler Austin, died Thursday, July 24, 1997, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Omaha.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Friday, July 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Naples, with the Rev. Jack Cox of Lakeview, officiating.  Interment followed at the Chapelwood Cemetery at Nash, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. W. Poore of Texarkana, a longtime family friend, officiating.  Pallbearers were her great-nephews, Paul Hicks, Justin Vissering, Jimmy Windle, Jeff Slagle, Michael Vissering and Harry James Vissering.  She was a former member of Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church in Texarkana, and she joined the First United Methodist Church in Naples, in 1966.  Elizabeth served in several leadership positions at both churches, particularly in the United Methodist Women�s organization, and its annual bazaars.  She was a member of the Naples Garden Club, a �pink lady� with the David Granberry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and her cooking, sewing and gardening skill were well known.  Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Henderson and E. F. Cunningham, brother John H. Austin Jr., and stepson James W. Cunningham.  She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Isabelle and Clois Hicks of Naples; a niece and husband, Joan Elizabeth and Aubrey Perry of Mesquite; a nephew and wife, Kerry and Marlene Hicks; great-nieces and husbands, Karen Elizabeth and Jeff Slagle of Denison, and Kelley and Jimmy Windle of Pottsboro;  great-nephew and wife, Paul and Lana Hicks of Sulphur Springs; and five great-great-nieces and �nephews, Justin and Brittany Vissering, Jordan Slagle, and Austin and Jared Hicks.  Elizabeth is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Austin of Houston; stepdaughter and husband, Virginia and Ray Marter of Satellite Beach, FL; stepdaughter-in-law, Kay Cunningham of Plattsmouth, NB; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends who love her dearly.  Memorial gifts may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Naples, or to the Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church in Texarkana.

Eugene Falls, 82, of Naples, died Saturday, November 29, 1997, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant following a brief illness.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Monday, December 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Naples, with the Rev. Jack Cox, the Rev. Janet Blackburn, and Dr. Dan Darby officiating.  Burial was in the Douglassville Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mr. Falls was born August 25, 1915, in Bogata, TX.  He was owner and operator of Granberry Insurance Agency of Naples, a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Belden Masonic Lodge, the Naples Volunteer Fire Department where he served as treasurer for over 37 years, and was a past president of the Naples Chamber of Commerce.  He was a longtime resident of Naples.  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Falls of Naples; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Ray Thigpen of Omaha, and Carol and Stan Ten-Eyck of Jonestown, TX; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles Welborn Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Ken and Kate Falls of Naples, and Mike and Jackie falls of Texarkana; two brothers, Bill Falls of Daingerfield, and Russell Falls of Marshall, AR; five grandchildren, Kent Thigpen of Jefferson, Todd Thigpen of Pittsburg, Traci Falls Wade of Richwood, Jona Ten-Eyck of Jonestown and Dee Suydam of Texarkana; and four great-grandchildren.  Serving as pallbearers were Joe Lovelace, Randall Ranes, Ellis Shirey, Roly Tuck and Bill Watson.

Edward Allen Fletcher, 80, of Omaha, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, in Mt. Pleasant.  Funeral services were at 11 am, Tuesday, May 20, at Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel in Daingerfield, with the Rev. Neal Thornburgh officiating.  Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery.  Mr. Fletcher was born August 6, 1916, in Daingerfield.  He was retired from Lone Star Steel, a member of the First Baptist Church of Omaha, member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge in Mt. Pleasant, and a World War II Army Veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Gladys Fletcher of Omaha; two sons, Travis Fletcher of Lewisville, and Ricahrd Fletcher of Irving; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.  (G Row 15)

Hullett officiating.  Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery.  Mrs. Golden was born December 9, 1948, in Dallas.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Hillsboro.  Survivors include her husband, Bobby Golden of Hillsboro; two daughters, Cindy Linker and Angie Linker of Hillsboro; three stepdaughters, Tricia Cooper of Tyler, and Bobbie Widner and Susan Byers of Huntsville; her mother, Bobbie Aeby of Mt. Bill Harty officiating.  Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery near Naples under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Gray was born June 18, 1930, in Rochester, NY.  She was a teacher and an accountant, a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Naples, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Order of the Eastern Star.  Survivors include her husband, Carol Gray of Naples, three sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Rosalie Gray of Little Rock; Steven and Amie Gray of San Diego; and Dave and Debbie Gray of Marshall; one daughter and son-in-law, Val and Jim Clark of Naples; one sister, Virginia Barclay of Rochester, NY; and four grandchildren.  Serving as pallbearers were James Welch, Galen Russell Jr., Ken Mixon, Lifus Clark, Frank Matthews, and Joe Dossett.  (SW Row 3)

Trey Roberson officiating.  Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Guess was born September 21, 1923, in Johnston County, NC.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Naples, and was preceded in death by her husband, Murray A. Guess; her parents, James Thomas Wakefield and Nora Wakefield; four sisters, and two brothers.  Survivors include two daughters, Leigh Ann Myers of Camp Nelson, CA, and Kathy Coley of Raleigh, NC;  two sons, Eddie Guess of Layton, UT, and Jim Guess of Rolla, MO; three sisters, Tennie Rumsey and Lois Gary, both of Mt. Mrs. Minnie Bell Hall, 90, of Omaha, died Thursday, May 29, 1997.  Funeral services were at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 31, at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Neal Thornburgh officiating.  Mrs. Hall was born October 10, 1906, was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a longtime resident of Omaha.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Hall; a brother, Rade Parker; and a sister, Alyne Oberthier.  Survivors include one son and duahgter-in-law, Thad Lee and Jane Hall of Omaha; two daughters, Patricia Goolsby of Kingwood, and Betty Sue White of Beaumont; four grandchildren, Thad Louis Hall of Omaha, Kim Goolsby of  Houston, Amy Harris of Denton, and Terry Hall of Houston; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Davis of Omaha.  Serving as pallbearers were Thad Louis Hall, Terry Hall, Travis Harris, Odis Cline, Ronnie Thomas and J. J. D. Hammonds, 72, of Naples, died Friday, October 3, 1997, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Omaha, after a lengthy illness.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Sunday, October 5, at Life Tabernacle in Naples, with the Rev. Roger Hammonds officiating, and Kerry Hicks offering the eulogy.  Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery under the Direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mr. Hammonds was born September 27, 1925, at Simms, TX.  He was a retired employee of Lone Star Steel Company, and the City of Naples.  He was a longtime member of the Naples Fire Department of which he served as its chief mechanic for 34 years.  He was named �Fireman of the Year� by the department in 1963 and again in 1990.  He was a longtime resident of Naples, and a member of Life Tabernacle.  Preceding him in death is his wife, Opal, and a brother, Curtis.  He is survived by two sons, Wayne Hammonds and Danny Hammonds, both of Naples; a daughter and son-in-law, Nita and Chris McCord of Naples; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Doris Jones and Helen Bradford, both of Simms, Linda Spears of Garland, and Pauline Mobley of Atwater, CA; four brothers, Travis Hammonds, George Hammonds Jr., and Henry Hammonds, all of Simms, and Billy Hammonds of Texarkana; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Windle and Thenia Kennedy of Mt. Trey Roberson officiating, and burial was in the Naples Cemetery.  Mrs. Hampton was born December 24, 1918, in Florien, LA.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Hampton.  Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Barbara Hampton of Texarkana, and Bruce Hampton of Naples; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Travis Megason of Texarkana; and four grandchildren, Kimberly Megason of Austin, Sean Megason of Boston, MA, Jennifer Maxer of San Antonio, and Sarah Mazer of Fayetteville, AR.  Serving as pallbearers were Buddy May, buddy Blue, Bill Ellis and Hollis Suttle.  (A Row 15)

Lela Belle Hanes, 96, of Omaha, died Wednesday, September 24, 1997, at the Elmwood Nursing Home in Omaha.  Funeral services were Friday, September 26, in Memorial Oaks Chapel in Houston, with the Rev. William Hermann officiating.  Interment was in the Memorial Oaks Mausoleum under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Hanes was born January 9, 1901, at Daingerfield.  She moved to Houston in 1928 and was employed with the Ledbetter Clinic as a medical secretary for 39 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Omaha.  She is survived by nephews Pete Bolin of Omaha, Hilton Hall of Lexington, TX, Windell Hall of Tyler and Alvin Tittle of Hot Springs, AR; and nieces Mary Davis and Frances Burnett, both of Omaha.  Preceding Mrs. Hanes in death were her husband, James E. Hanes, and an infant son, Calvert Hanes.

Stewart.  He was raised by his foster parents, the late Lizzie and Fred Zimmerman.  He was a retired USAF Major, B-52 aircraft commander, T-38 flight instructor, military professor in philosophy and fine arts at the USAF Academy and a sales associate for the New England Insurance Company for the past 13 years.  He was the quarterback for the1963 Pewitt Brahmas football team, the first to ever advance to the state quarterfinals playoffs, and was a graduate of Pewitt High School.  He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Colorado Springs; two sons, Thomas Markham Stewart of Austin, TX, and George McDermith of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Michelle Christacopulos and Amanda McDermith, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Hayden Stewart of Fouke, AR; and a sister, Martha Hullett of Mesquite, TX.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Zimmerman.  Memorials may be made to the Paul H. Nolan Richey officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Tigert was born November 8, 1916 in Swink, OK.  She was a member of the Swink Baptist Church and a long-time resident of the Concord Community.  She was preceded in death by her hustand, Louis Tigert, and a son-in-law Terry Hardwick.  Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Ula Margaret Knight of Atlanta, TX; Jo Ann Hardwick of Flint, TX and Eva and Ricky Marlar of Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Kathy Tigert of Omaha and Pal and Tammy Tigert of Bryans Mill; one brother and sister-in-law Steve and June Blair of Oklahoma City; four sisters and a brother-in-law Nancy Pendergrass of Oklahoma City, Katie Willingham of Tuscon, Ariz, Molean Martin of Valliant, OK and Horton and J. B. Boozer of DeSoto, TX; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

TOMLIN, SUE MACKAY                                                               October 6, 1939 � November 6, 1997

Sue MacKay Tomlin, 58, of Naples, died Thursday, November 6, 1997, in a Longview hospital. 

Funeral services were at 2 pm, Saturday, November 8, at the Daingerfield Church of Christ with Norman Miller officiating.  Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery near Naples, under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.  Mrs. Tomlin was born October 6, 1939 in Oak Park, IL.  She was a former employee of East Texas Medical Center Home Health Care in Daingerfield, and a member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ.  Survivors include her husband, Larry Tomlin of Naples; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Deborah MacKay of Naples, and Dan MacKay of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Kim Bradford of Kilgore; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Cheryl and Bob Rigby of SC, and Arlene Phillips of Tulsa, OK; her mother, JoAnne McNally of Palos Heights, IL; two sisters, Bibi Anne Duncan of St. Charles, and Dianne Tews of Milwaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Bubba, Kali, Zane and Annah; and two nephews, Patrick and Tim Duncan. Vaughn, Obie Obie Vaughn,  94, of Omaha, died Saturday, October 18, 1997 at his residence.  Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. October 20 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with Bro. Jamie Duncan and Bro. Jim Parker officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery at Omaha under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mr. Vaughn was born September 1, 1903 in Naples.  He was a member of the North Ridge Church of Christ and a former deacon at both the Rocky Branch Church of Christ and the Naples Church of Christ.  He was a retired carpenter and a life-time resident of Morris County.  Preceding Mr. Vaughn in death were an infant son, Charles Wendell; his wife of 56 years, Woodie Mae Crow Vaughn; two sisters Esther Vaughn and Florizel Kennedy.  Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bob Critz of Dallas and Joan and Rodney Cook of Omaha; three grandchildren Debi Bulin of Douglassville, GA, Amy Cook of Dallas and Brandon Cook of Omaha; a sister Onan Pick of Waco and several nieces and nephews.  Serving as pallbearers were Willie Giles Smith, Wayne Charlton, Gene Campbell, Tim  Dale, Troy Gibbs and Glynn Gray.
Vickers, Vernon Wayne Vernon Wayne Vickers  family and friends were invited to a gathering at 1:00 p.m. January 24, in the Concord Baptist Church fellowship hall to honor the memory of Vernon Wayne Vickers who died January 11, 1998, in Brownsville, Texas, where he and Peggy, his wife of 33 years,  had spent their winters for the past several years.  Mr. Vickers was born August 22, 1928.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Beasley and Dewey T. Vickers.  He is survived by a daughter, Tonye McKinney; sons, David Vickers and Vernon Bill Vickers; grandson Kris Vickers; stepsons, Jerry Gunby and Mitch Gunby; step-grandchildren, Marcus, Chausa McCally, Amy, Krysta and Bryan; brothers, Dillon Vickers and Bill Beasley Vickers;  sisters, Corrine Womack, Shirley Hunt and Carolyn Evans; 17 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Vernon's ashes were scattered January 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gulf of Mexico.

Henry (Butch) Willeford, 55, of Avinger, died Monday, June 23, at the University of Texas Health Center.  Graveside services were at 10 am, Wednesday, June 25, at the Wheatville Cemetery at Naples, with the Rev. Bill Harty officiating, and under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mr. Willeford was a former resident of Naples, and was a member of the Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Willeford on December 26, 1942.  Survivors include his mother, Ruby Willeford of Avinger; one son, Tony Benton Willeford of Dallas; five sisters, Norma Simpson of Avinger, Dorothy Rhymes of Denison, Margaret Elliott of Mt. Pleasant, Rose Welborn of Bonham and Melba Moore of Avinger; two brothers, Thomas Willeford and Danny Willeford, both of Avinger; and a number of nieces and nephews.  (Row 6)

Lola Williams, 87, of Jenkins, died Sunday, June 29.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Monday, June 30, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Pleas Layne officiating.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery.  Mrs. Williams was a member of the South Union Baptist Church of Daingerfield, and was a lifetime resident of Jenkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Williams; a daughter Novelle Nichols; and a son, Robert Gene Williams.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Billy John Hicks of Naples; a sister-in-law, Birdie Terry of Daingerfield; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  Serving as pallbearers were Bud Davlin, Bud Hicks, Johnny Hicks, Sam Hicks, Eugene Terry and Felton Williams.  (A Row 14)

Mrs. Alice Boddie Wommack, 75, of Longview, died Friday, December 19, 1997, in a Longview hospital.  Graveside services were at 10 am, Monday, December 22, at the Naples Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Barlow officiating.  Burial was under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples.  Mrs. Wommack was born November 3, 1922, in Marietta, TX.  She was a member of the Winterfield United Methodist Church, and a former resident of Marietta.  Survivors include her husband, Frank Wommack of Longview; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lisa Wommack of Longview; a brother, Jack Boddie of Bryans Mill; and two grandchildren, Erin Wommack and Alexandra Wommack, both of Longview. YOUNGER, SAMUEL                                                                                         August 30, 1919 � December 5, 1997

Samuel Younger, 78, of Daingerfield, died Friday, December 5, 1997, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant.  Funeral services are Saturday, December 13, at 2 pm, at the Mt. Zion CME Church.  HE had served with the US Army. Mr. Younger was born August 30, 1919, in Daingerfield, was retired and was a member of the Mt. Zion CME Church.  He had served with the U S. Army.  Survivors include his sons, Gaylor Younger and Vincient Younger of Lone Star, Fredrick Younger, Francois Younger and James Younger of Daingerfield, Roderick Mitchell of Fresno, CA., and Anthony Mason of Mt. Pleasant; and one daughter, Brenda Mitchell of Daingerfield.  He was married to Earnesting Younger. Pallbearers are Jimmy Grant, Johnnie B. Hurndon Jr., Jerry Hurndon, A. D. Johnson, Delwin, Holloman Marshall Grant Jr., Bishop Mason and H. B. Barber Jr.  (BL Sec Row 1)
