BOOZER, A. L. (BUDGE)

A. L.
(Budge) Boozer, 71, of Omaha, died Thursday morning of last week in
a Houston hospital. Funeral services were Saturday at 3 PM, at the
First Baptist Church of Omaha with the Rev. Clifford Longino
officiating. Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery. Mr. Boozer was a
former mayor of Omaha and a retired grocer. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Omaha and the David Elliott Masonic Lodge.
He was a shriner and a longtime resident of Omaha. Survivors include
his wife, Annie Mae Boozer of Omaha; a son, Louis Boozer of Houston;
his mother, Mrs. Lee Lackey of Omaha; three brothers, Leonard Theron
Boozer of Mobile, AL, Hubbard Henry Boozer of Omaha, and Clarence
Edward Boozer of Naples; two sisters, Christine Adams of Omaha, and
Viola Mayton of Paris, CA; and two grandchildren. (H Row 3) |
Carpenter, Blanche Lamont |
Blanche Lamont Carpenter, of Omaha,
died Thursday of last week at the David Granberry Memorial Hospital
in Naples, TX. Funeral services were Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the
Concord Baptist Church near Omaha with the Rev. Glenn Griffith and
the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial was in the Concord
Cemetery under the direction of the Hanner Funeral Service of
Naples. Mrs. Carpenter was the wife of James Willis Carpenter,
she was a member of the Methodist Church and a longtime resident
of Omaha. Husband James Willis Carpenter, b. 26 February 1888, d.
27 March 1974 TX Pvt US Army WWII; son of John & Jane Davis
Carpenter) Children include ten sons; Marvin Carpenter, Velta C.
Carpenter, Floyd Kelly Carpenter and Anthony D. Carpenter, all of
Omaha, James M. Carpenter of Naples, Dale Carpenter of Mt.
Pleasant, and Charles Carpenter of Minneapolis, Ellis, Lindell,
and Milton; two daughters, Maxine Keene of Omaha and Mrs. Pauline
Barfield of New Boston, 24 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren. |
Carpenter, Marvin |
Marvin Carpenter, 57, of Omaha, died
Tuesday of last week at the David Granberry Memorial Hospital after
a brief illness. Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m. at the Concord
Baptist Church near Omaha with the Rev. Glenn Griffith and the Rev.
Lanny Peek officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under
the direction of the Hanner Funeral Service of Naples. Born January
7, 1923, he was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, a veteran of
World War II, and had been employed with Lone Star Army Ordnance
Plant and was a lifetime resident of the Omaha area. Survivors
include his wife Harvie Dee Carpenter (March 27, 1923) of Omaha; a
daughter, Marvadene Banks of Omaha; three stepsons, William C.
Robison of Dallas, Cecil Robison of Texarkana and Gary Robison of
Longview; six brothers, James M. Carpenter of Naples, V. C.

Galloway, Charles Denton "Charlie" |
Charlie Galloway, 94, of Omaha, died
Wednesday of last week in the David Granberry Memorial Hospital at
Naples after an extended illness. Funeral services were at 3:00
p.m. Thursday at the Concord Baptist Church near Omaha with the Rev.
T. P. Lee, the Rev. Glenn Griffith and the Rev. Clifford Longino
officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction
of the Hanner Funeral Service of Naples. M. to Lettie E. (Stevens)
Galloway 28 November 1909; Mr. Galloway was born July 27, 1885 in
Alabama, the son of Thomas M. K. & Nancy M. Patterson Galloway; Mr.
Galloway moved to Morris County where he was a retired farmer and
cattleman, was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Survivors
include his wife Mrs. Lettie E. Galloway (b. May 17, 1892) of Omaha
; three daughters Mrs. Vida Wolfenberger, Mrs. Mildred Kindsfather
and Mrs. Faye Vickers, all of Omaha; a son Thomas Galloway of Omaha;
12 grandchildren; great-grand children and great-great
grandchildren. |

Arthur Gray, 80, of Omaha, died Wednesday of last week at the David
Granberry Memorial Hospital in Naples. Funeral services were at 2 p.m.,
Thursday at the Concord Baptist Church near Omaha with the Rev. Glenn
Griffith and the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial was in the
Omaha Cemetery under the direction of the Hanner Funeral Service of
Naples. Mr. Gray was a farmer and a member of the Concord Baptist
Church. He had been a lifetime resident of the Omaha area. Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Cecil Gray of Omaha; two sons, Eddie Gray and
Weymond Gray, both of Omaha; a sister, Hazel Boozer of Dallas; two
stepsons, Willie Giles Smith of Naples and Edward Smith of Daingerfield;
a stepdaughter, Nancy Johnston of Daingerfield; 15 grandchildren and a

Bobby Richards, 48, of Omaha died at the
David Granberry Memorial Hospital in Naples Sunday. Funeral services
were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church of Omaha with the
Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery
near Omaha. Born in Morris County, the son of Belton L. & Alvis J.
Richards; he lived in the Omaha area all of his life. He was employed
with Lone Star Steel Company. Survivors include his wife, Gloria of
Paris, Texas; a daughter Robin Richards of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; a son
Ricky Richards of Texarkana; brother Anthony Richards of Omaha and B.

RUSSELL, 77, of Omaha, died Tuesday night, October 21, 1980, at
the Elmwood Nursing Home in Omaha. Funeral services were at 3 pm,
Thursday, October 23, at the Concord Baptist Church near Omaha with the
Rev. Glenn Griffith and the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial
was in the Concord Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Charles R.
Russell of Mt. Pleasant, and Carl Russell of Dallas; seven sisters, Mrs.
Maurice Simpson of Naples, and Mrs. Wayne Gilstrap, Mrs. B. C. Vickers,
Mrs. Joe Clayton, Mrs. Lee Roy Kimmell, Mrs. Dan Clayton, and Mrs.
Gilbert Gibson, all of Omaha; three grandsons, and a number of nieces
and nephews. She was the wife of John W. Russell and daughter of Robert

STEVENS, CHARLIE H.
May 18, 1890 -- June 23, 1980
A resident of
Route1, Mount Pleasant, C. H. (Charlie) Stevens died at Titus County
Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 23, 1980 at 7:10 p.m. at the age of 90
years. He was born May 18,1890 in Titus County, was a farmer and a
member of the Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services will be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bates-Cooper-Weems Chapel with
burial in Concord Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Hettie ad one
daughter, Mrs. Ab Cook of Mount Pleasant; one son, Morris Stevens of
Mount Pleasant and one grandchild. Also four sisters, Mrs. Lula Parham
of Mount Parham; Mrs. Mamie Lilly and Mrs. Lettie Galloway both of
Omaha, and Mrs. Cleora Stevens of Rocky Branch. (SW Row 2) |
Vaughn, Woodie Mae |
Woodie Mae Vaughn, 74, of Omaha, died
Saturday at the David Granberry Memorial Hospital in Naples. Funeral
services were at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Hanner Funeral Home Chapel in
Naples with Horace Hampton, Bill Northam and Jamie Duncan officiating.
Burial was in the Concord Cemetery near Omaha under the direction of the
Hanner Funeral Service. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Naples Church
of Christ and a lifetime resident of the Omaha area. Married to Obie
Vaughn 7 January 1924.
Survivors include her husband, Obie T.
Vaughn of Omaha; two daughters, Joan Cook of Omaha and Kathleen Critz of
Dallas; three grandchildren Debi Bulin, Amy & Brandon Cook; and a
number of nieces and nephews, also son Charles Wendell Vaughn. Serving
as pallbearers were nephews and included J. L. Crow, Donald Crow, Billy
Roberts, Bill Kennedy, Lonnie Walters, Kenneth Crow, Comer Kennedy, Paul
Ray Kennedy and J. C. Traylor.

Ada B. Walker,
97, of Hughes Springs died Saturday in a local nursing home after a
lengthy illness. Services were held Monday at the Concord Baptist
Church in Omaha, with Revs. Curtis Hall and B. D. Walters officiating.
Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis
Funeral Home. Mrs. Walker was born in 1883 in Alabama. She was a
resident of the area for 87 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include seven sons, Raymond Walker, Mack Walker, and Morris
Walker, all of Omaha, J. D. Walker of Mt. Pleasant, Woodson Walker,
Wylie Walker, and Obie Walker, all of Hughes Springs; three daughters,
Ivy Strube and Olline Flori, both of Seminole, and Nellie Smith of
Littlefield; three sisters, Rose Maddox and Lillie Brown, both of
Shawnee, OK, and Parilee Robinson of Albuquerque, NM; 21 grandchildren,
51 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-great grandchild. Pallbearers: Robert Strube, Cecil
Strube, J. R. Walker, Guy Walker, Billy Mack Walker,
Jackie Walker, W. T. Walker,Jr.,
Craig Flori, Stephen Flori, Robert Flori, Danny Walker, Bobby Walker.
