Obituary -- The
Naples MONITOR
WILLIAM F. ELROD, SR.,
56, of Port Arthur, TX, died Friday night of last week at his home.
Funeral services were at 3 PM Monday at the Hanner Funeral Home chapel
in Naples with the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial was in the
Omaha Cemetery. A native of Atlanta, GA, he had moved to Port Arthur
after retiring from the US Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Omaha. Survivors include his wife, Chrystene Boozer Elrod of
Port Arthur; a daughter, Sydna J. Elrod of Baltimore, MD; two sons,
William F. Elrod, Jr, of Sand Point, Idaho, and John Henry Elrod of
Macon, GA; his mother Willie Martin of Summerfield FL; a brother, C B
Elrod Jr, of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Henry of Summerfield, and
Georgia Clark Hightower of Atlanta; two grandchildren; and his
father-in-law, Hubbard H. Boozer of Omaha.

James Michael
L (Mike) Laney, 16, died Thursday night of last week from injuries
received in a car-motorcycle accident in Naples. Funeral services were
Saturday at p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Omaha with the Rev. Don
Couch officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery near Omaha. He
was a member of the Naples Assembly of God Church and a member of the
Paul H. Pewitt High School junior class. Survivors include his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. James Laney of Omaha; a sister Sandy McNeil of Mt.
Pleasant; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Odis Blalock of Mt. Pleasant
and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Laney of Omaha; and a number of aunts, uncles and
cousins. Serving as pallbearers were ? Hogan, David Clark, Gary ?
