Carson, Ola Stevens

CARSON, OLA STEVENS                                                                             January 15, 1885 -- February 22, 1978

OMAHA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Carson, 93, were held Friday at the Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Jones and Rev. Clifford Longino officiating.  Burial followed in the Concord Cemetery.  Mrs. Cason was a lifetime resident of Omaha and a member of the Concord Baptist Church.  Survivors include three daughtes, Mrs. Sybil Glover of Omaha, Mrs. Arlis Riley and Mrs. Claudine Oney, both of Marshall; a brother, Charlie Stevens of Mount Pleasant; five sisters, Mrs. Cleora Stevens of Daingerfield, Mrs. Lettie Gallaway and Mrs. Mamie Lilly, both of Omaha, Mrs. LoLula Parham of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Nora Talley of Phoenix, Ariz; 16 grandchildren, 38 great- grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.  (Row 14 NW)

Ellis, Mildred Gardner

ELLIS, MILDRED GARDNER                                                                   July 19, 1903 � December 24, 1978 

Mrs. Bentley Ellis, 75, of Omaha, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1978, at her home.  Funeral services were at 3 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the First United Methodist Church of Omaha with the Rev. Von Dawson and the Rev. Keith Jenkins officiating.  Interment was in the Omaha Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.  Mrs. Ellis was a lifetime resident of Omaha and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Omaha.  Survivors include her husband, Bentley Ellis of Omaha; two half-sisters, Thelma Harris of Sara, OK, and Glennie Lipton; and four half-brothers, Jerry Gardner, Joel Gardner and Roy Gardner, all of CA, and James Gardner of OK.  (F Row 9) 

Hawkins, Thomas James

HAWKINS, THOMAS JAMES                                                                    September 23, 1915 � December 21, 1978

Thomas James Hawkins, 63, son of Mrs. Ora Hawkins and the late Dr. J. T. Hawkins of Omaha, died December 21, in Tucson, AZ, in the Veterans� Hospital.  He was a resident of Lordsburg, NM, and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betsy Hawkins of Lordsburg; two daughters, Lyn Anne Sauders of Giddings, TX, and Cynthia Brooke Hawkins of Dallas; two brothers, Kenneth Hawkins of Sante Fe, NM, and three sisters, Mrs. John Whittington of Houston, Mrs. Jim Moore of Omaha and Mrs. J. Paul Smith of Marshall.  A full Masonic funeral service was conducted Dec. 23, at the Heather Funeral Home in Lordsburg with burial in the Mountainview Cemetery at Lordsburg.  Mr. Hawkins was a Captain of Troop F, 112th Cavalry serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.  He was severly wounded on Tarawa, New Britain.  He was a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge of Omaha, and was retired from Ritter-Walker Co., of El Paso.  Mr. Hawkins was born September 23, 1915 in Naples.

Richards, Belton Jr.

RICHARDS, BELTON, JR.                                                                         October 4, 1926 � August 7, 1978

B. L. Richards of Lone Star died Monday afternoon at the David Granbury Memorial Hospital in Naples.  Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church of Omaha with the Rev. Stanley Nabona and the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery near Omaha.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alvis Richards of Lone Star; a daughter Cathy Richards of Lone Star, two brothers, Anthony Richards and Bobby Richards, both of Omaha and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  He was a maintenance foreman at Lone Star Steel Company where he had been employed for the past 31 years.  He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Lone Star and a former resident of Omaha.  (Row 35 NE)

Tigert, Nisida "Jackie"

TIGERT, NISIDA (JACKIE)                                                                        September 20, 1907 � June 20, 1978

Funeral services form Mrs. Nisida (Jackie) Tigert, 70, of Omaha were Thursday of last week at 10 a.m. at the Hanner Funeral Home Chapel in Naples with the Rev. David Blas� and the Rev. Carroll Jones officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery near Omaha.  She was a former resident of California and had lived in Omaha for the past two years.  Survivors include her husband Emerald Tigert of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Lorraine Bayrouth of Crowley, LA and Mrs. Margarite Morrison of New Orleans; one brother John Hanes of New Orleans; a step-son Lee Tigert of Pacifica, CA and one daughter Mrs. Jo Ann Dunnell of San Bruno, CA.  (Row 2 SW)
