Howard
Boozer, Sr., 62, of Dallas, formerly of Omaha, died last Friday morning
in Dallas after a long illness. Funeral services were at 2 pm Sunday in
the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Griffith and the Rev.
Jack Cox officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery. Mr. Boozer
was born May 11, 1912. He was a retired Ling-Temco-Vaught aircraft
sheet metal worker, a member of the Concord Baptist Church and a
veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Howard Boozer, Jr.,
of Denver, CO; a brother, Allen Boozer of Omaha; three sisters, Miss
Fronie Boozer and Mrs. Irene Morris, both of Omaha, and Mrs. Maggie Lee
Branch of Longview; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral
services were handled by the Hanner Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J.
L. Vickers, Guy Davis, John Lee Moore, Thomas Thigpen, Bentley Wright

A 61-year-old
Daingerfield man was shot and killed Saturday in a Naples cafe. Morris
County Deputy Ralph Smith said Thomas Weldon Peurfoy, 26, of Naples was
charged with shooting J. C. Carpenter after a heated argument in a cafe
northeast of Naples on Hwy 67. Charles Knowles, Prec. 4 Justice of the
Peace, pronounced Carpenter dead at the scene. Peurfoy was arrensted by
Naples police Dick Lawlings and Smith. Peurfoy was charged with murder
and released on $4,000 bond. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in
the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Longino
officiating. burial was in Concord Cemetery. Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Carl Carpenter; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette McBee of Pittsburg and
Miss Sandra Carpenter of Daingerfield; six sons, Mack Carpenter of
Pittsburg, Jay Carpenter of Omaha, Wayne Carpenter of Dennison and C. L.
Carpenter, Billy Carpenter and Lloyd Carpenter, all of Daingerfield; his
mother, Mrs. John C. Carpenter of Omaha; two brothers, Odie Carpenter
and J. D. Carpenter, both of Texarkana; and three sisters, Mrs. Taft
Collins of Omaha, Mrs. Bertha Collins of Daingerfield and Mrs. Pearl

Munkres, 76, of Omaha, died last Monday afternoon in the David Granberry
Hospital in Naples. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday of last
week at the Concord Baptist Church near Omaha with the Rev. Clifford
Longino and the Rev. Glenn Griffith officiating. Burial was in the
Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Munkres was a Baptist and a longtime resident of
Omaha. Survivors include four sons Homer Munkres of Omaha, Ralph
Munkres of Brey, CA, Doyle Munkres of Fairfield, TX and Ernest Munkres
of Amarillo; three daughters Mrs. Debbie Sargent of Houston, Mrs. Joy
Macias of Edwards, CA and Mrs. Neva Hedlund of Eatonton, GA; two
brothers Al Hood of Wolf Point, MT and Golden Hood of Truth or
Consequences, NM; a sister Mrs. Gladys Stevenson of Truth or
Consequences, NM, and 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. (Row

Funeral
services for Mrs. Annie Lula Stevens, 85, of Daingerfield were held at
2:30 p.m. Thursday, in Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil
Fielden and the Rev. B. L. Pate officiating. Burial was in Concord
Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mrs. Stevens
died Tuesday, April 30, 1974, in the Hospital in the Pines. She was a
resident of Morris County for more than 50 years and was a member of the
Methodist Church. She is survived by four sons, Raymond Stevens,
Leonard Stevens, both of Daingerfield, Melvin K. Stevens of Winnie, and
J. W. Stevens of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. B. L. Pate of Cranfills
Gap, and Mrs. Earl Wilson of Daingerfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Davis
of Omaha, and Mrs. Debie Bohanan of Tucumcari, N.M.; three brothers,
Dennis Wellborn and Arthur Wellborn, both of Flordada and Howard
Wellborn of Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and
four great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were the grandsons, Bobby
Wayne Pate, Ronald Stevens, Levi Collins, Bobby Collins, Lynn Stevens

JEFFERSON, �TOM�, WELLBORN, 85, of Omaha, died Saturday morning, March
9, 1974, in the Naples hospital. He was born July 10, 1888 to Joshua
and Cornelia Carpenter Wellborn. Funeral services were Sunday at 4:00
p.m. in the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Griffin and the
Rev. Clifford Longino officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church. He had
been a longtime resident of Omaha. Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Mary Wellborn of Omaha, a sister, Mrs. Blanche Carpenter of Omaha and a

Wright, 93, of Omaha, died May 11 at the Naples hospital. Funeral
services were at 4 p.m. May 13 in the Concord Baptist Church near Omaha
with the Rev. Carroll Jones and the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating,
Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral
Service. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and a
longtime resident of the Concord community. She was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #997. Survivors include four sons,
Bentley Wright, Marshall Wright and Billy T. Wright, all of Omaha and
Leslie Wright of Tyler; a daughter Mary Walker of Omaha; three brothers
Allen Johnson of Greggton, Charlie Johnson of Mt. Pleasant and Ed
Johnson of Omaha; a sister Lorena Ragland of Omaha; seven grandchildren;
13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Serving as
pallbearers were Jesse B. Wright, Jr. and Mark Wright of Omaha, David A.
Wright of Tyler, Raymond Wright and Robert d. Horne of Shreveport, Steve
