Boozer, Emma Allen

BOOZER, EMMA ALLEN                                                                           September 15, 1875 � July 31, 1961

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. EMMA BOOZER HELD

Mrs. Emma Boozer, 86, wife of the late J. J. Boozer, died at her home Monday morning July 31, after an illness of seven years.  She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Branch of Longview, Mrs. Burl Morris and Misses Dora and Fronie Boozer of Omaha; five sons, Roy and Allen Boozer of Omaha, Troy and Howard Boozer of Dallas, and Willie Boozer of Ajo, AZ; two brothers, Noah and Henry Allen, both of Ft. Payne, AL; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Jones and Mrs. Florence Denison, both of Ft. Payne, AL, and Mrs. Molly Cook of Omaha; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.  Mrs. Boozer, a native of Jackson County, AL, had lived in and around Omaha most of her life, and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Concord Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Biddy officiating, assisted by Rev. Longino, pastor of First Baptist Church of Omaha.  Pallbearers were, Gordon Williams, Joe Tigert, Frank Clayton, B. C. Vickers, Mack Walker, David Giles, Ernest Fields and Cluron Wright.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Home.  (Row 26 SE)

Clayton, Joe Thompson

CLAYTON, JOE THOMPSON                                                                     October 9, 1896 -- March 18, 1961

Joe Thompson Clayton, 64, of Omaha, Texas, died Saturday night at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. A. J. Finley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wilma Biddy.  Burial will be in Concord Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Home of Naples.  He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Orvil Surratt of Omaha; three sons, J. T. Clayton, Frank and Jeff Clayton, all of Omaha; a brother Dan Clayton of Omaha; a sister, Ms. Ruth Haney of Borger, Texas; a half-brother Martin Clayton of Paris; two half-sisters, Mrs. Irene Coker of Tyler and Mrs. Bertha Evans of Paris and seven grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Tucker Thigpen, Curtis McCollum, Cecil Keene, Doc James, Velta Carpenter, Guy Davis, Dee Tigert, David Giles.  The body will remain at the family residence in Omaha until funeral time.  (Row 36 NE)

Palmore, Willie Odis

PALMORE, WILLIE ODIS                                                                          January 7, 1901 -- January 9, 1961

Willie Odis Palmore, 60 year old native of Naples died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the local hospital.  He is survived by his wife Mrs. Lucille Palmore; one son Willie James Palmore; three sisters Mrs. Emmett (Carrie) Fleming of Naples and Mrs. L. W. (Elenor) Lyons and Mrs. W. B. (Irma) Wood both of Dallas; and one granddaughter.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Gibbs officiating assisted by the Rev. L. C. Orrick and the Rev. Morris Hill. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Hanner Funeral Home.  Active pallbearers were Lenoy Slider, Kennard Fleming, Jessie Palmore of DeKalb, Dan McFerrin of Mt. Pleasant, Ray Jacobs, Thad Hall, Ellis Shirey and Fred Vissering. Honorary pallbearers were Leon Coker, Chester Coker, Bob Bearden, Vernon Jacobs, B. J. Floyd, Herman Walters, Howard Hawkins, Dr. Palmore Curry of Mt. Pleasant and Marvin Ranes.  (Row 38 NE)

Talley, Florence Lenora Cabaniss

TALLEY, FLORENCE LENORA CABANISS                                           December 5, 1868 � October 13, 1961

Last Rites for MRS. R. L. TALLEY�Mrs. Florence Lenora Talley, 92, died unexpectedly at her home about 8 pm Friday. Mrs. Talley was born in Section, Alabama, and was married to the late R. L. (Bob) Talley, on Nov. 28, 1885.  They came to Texas when she was 18 years of age. To this union, thirteen children were born, five of whom preceded her in death.  Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Gilstrap; Mrs. Mary Gibson; Mrs. Ruby Clayton; Mrs. Florence Russell; Mrs. Clyde Clayton and Mrs. Bobby Lee Vickers of Omaha; Mrs. Mont Simpson of Naples; Mrs. Jeanne Kimmel of Houston; two half-sisters, Mrs. Nancy Bond and Mrs. Alice Bell; also 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm, Sunday at the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. A. J. Findley, assisted by the Rev. William Biddy, officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Hanner Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were: Bentley Wright, Billy Wright, Glenn Wright, Ned Walker, Carl Davis, Guy Davis, Judge Smith and Howard Boozer. The body remained at the family residence until funeral time. (Row 10 SW)
