Dorothy Ball Tigert and husband, Dee W. Tigert of Omaha; one
granddaughter, Frances Ann Ball of Omaha; two brothers and their
families, Austin Martin Embree, Jr. of Cookville and Cornelius Weaver
Embree of Albuquerque, NM; two half-sisters, Myrtice Stansberry and
Sally Foster of KS. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Lorene
Ball, and her parents, Austin Martin Embree, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth

Funeral
services were held from the Concord Baptist Church at 2:00 o�clock
Monday afternoon for Wm. David Lackey, who passed away early Sunday
morning, December 15, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dan (Lovie)
Walker and Mr. Walker. His death was attributed to Bright�s disease.
Rev. A. J. Findley, pastor of the Concord church at the time the
deceased became a member of it, had charge of the services, assisted by
Rev. C. E. Parish, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Omaha, and Rev.
Ben Anderson, pastor of the local Methodist church. Burial was made in
the family plat in the Concord cemetery. Pallbearers were H. G.
Wallace, W. M. Belyeu, Royce Thigpen, J. H. McCollum, W. E. Swint,
Vernon Lawhon, T. A. Thigpen and David Giles. Mr. Lackey was born in
Jackson County, AL on September 16, 1884. He came with his parents, the
late Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Lackey to Texas when about eight years of age
and had lived in Omaha and the Concord community practically all his
life. In 1904 he was married to Miss Kittie Boozer, who preceded him in
death seven years ago. To this union was born two children. For many
years he was a progressive farmer, but at the time of his death he was
in the grocery business at Omaha. He was married to Mrs. Lee Boozer a
few years ago. Surviving are his daughter and son, Mrs. Dan (Lovie)
Walker and Clyde Lackey, and three grandchildren David, Nancy and
Kathryn Walker, all of Omaha; two brothers Jim C. Lackey of Greenville,
and Jesse Lackey of Deming, New Mexico; two sisters Mrs. Lucy Finney of
Oklahoma City, OK and Mrs. Leona Boozer of Aubrey. (Row 23 SE) |
