Lucious George �Luke� Buford, 72, of Naples, were July 18, 2009, at Union Chapel
Baptist Church of Omaha with the Rev. D. O. Sanders and pastor Bishop Charlie
Young officiating and the Rev. Joe N. Rochelle delivering the eulogy. Mr.
Buford was born January 10, 1937, in Omaha, the son of Willie and Tempie (Ivy)
Buford. He died July 14, 2009, in Omaha. He attended Carver Elementary School
and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by
his parents; one brother; and one sister. Survivors include a brother, Charles
Buford of Dallas; two sisters, Carolyn McCarter of Naples, and Janie Mae Jackson
of Hobbs, New Mexico; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers included Tommy Watson, Alton Allen, Tony Parker, Artis Whetstone,
Scottie Huey, Celester Washington and Gary Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were
his nephews, Rickey Parks, Victor L. Berkley, Torrence Jackson and Jonathan

ROSA FORTE,
93, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 11, 1995, in a Clarksville
hospital. Funeral services were at 1 pm, Saturday, October 14, at Haynes
Memorial Chapel in Clarksville, with the Rev. B. A. Easter officiating. Burial
was in the Paradise Cemetery at Omaha. Mrs. Forte was born January 28, 1902, at
Omaha. She was a member of the St. Paul�s Baptist Church in DeKalb, Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey Forte and Herbert M. Forte, of DeKalb; a
brother Villa Turner of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Mattie McClellan of San
Diego, and Nellie B. Hanks of Oakland, CA; and four grandchildren. (Row 4)

Oscar L. Gamble, 67, of Naples, were Thursday, February 29, 2004, at Antioch
Baptist Church with the Rev. James Boyce and Rev. L. C. Webster officiating.
Mr. Gamble was born April 15, 1936, in Omaha. He died Wednesday, February 18,
2004, in Tyler. He was a former employee of the city of Los Angeles, member of
Union Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and an Army Vietnam
veteran. Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Lynette Gamble of Arcadia, CA;
one son, Kevin Antonio Gamble of Los Angeles; three step-children, Stephanie
Johnson, George Johnson and Kim Brown, all of Pasadena, CA; one brother, Charles
Hines of Texarkana; one sister, Exie Lavon Webster of Longview; eight
grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Interment was at Paradise

Gamble, 88, of Naples, died Thursday, July 11, 1996, at the Titus Regional
Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services were at 11 am, Monday, July
15, at the Union Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. F. E. Hargraves
officiating. Burial was in Paradise Cemetery. Mr. Gamble was born September
28, 1907, in Omaha. He was a steelworker for Lone Star Steel and a member and
deacon of the Union Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Erma
Gamble of Naples; two sons, Theodore W. Gamble and George A. Gamble, both of
Omaha; two daughters, Janie C. Turner of Dallas, and Jewel P. Brazier of Walnut,

Services for Mr. Theodore �T.W.� Gamble, 80, of Omaha, were July
4, 2009, at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Omaha with the Rev. D. O.
Sanders officiating. Mr. Gamble was born December 24, 1928, in Omaha, the son
of Theodore Roosevelt and Maria Elizabeth Rogers Gamble. He died June 29, 2009,
in Longview. He was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he
served as deacon, chairman of the Deacon Board and superintendent of Sunday
School, worked for the City of Los Angeles for 15 years, retired as a pipe
threader from Lone Star Steel, was chairman of the cemetery fund for Paradise
Cemetery, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Pearline Gamble; his parents; brother, Jesse Leon Gamble; and
sister, Mary C. Brown. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev.
George A. and Lacyne Gamble of Omaha; two sisters, Jewel P. Brazier of Walnut,
CA, and Janie C. Turner of Dallas; special friend, Opal Allen of Omaha; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Burial was in

Molly Ermadine Handy, 85, of Omaha, were December 12, 2008, at Union Chapel
Baptist Church with the Rev. George A. Gamble officiating. Mrs. Handy was born
November 23, 1923, in Naples, the daughter of Edward and Lula Raney Lovelace.
She died December 5, 2008, in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Union
Chapel Baptist Church and attended Omaha High School before moving to Los
Angeles, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Handy;
her parents, eight brothers; three sisters; four nephews; and two nieces.
Survivors include one sister, Ludie Dillahunty of Greenville; eight nephews,
Robert Lovelace Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; Eddie Ray Lovelace of Longview, Alrick
Lovelace and Theodus Lovelace Jr., of Los Angeles, Clifford Turner Jr., of
Naples, Bobbie Lee Turner of Pasco, Washington, Billy Harold Turner of Boise,
Idaho, and Freddie Lewis of Frisco, Texas; ten nieces, Pegeen Lovelace and
Teresa Lovelace of Tacoma, Washington, Mary Lou Lovelace of Texarkana, Denise
Lovelace of Los Angeles, Betty Willis of Augusta, Georgia, Peggy Lovelace Kidd
of Dallas, Marquita Hawkins and Benita Marshall of Atlanta, Georgia, Esther
Merle Hayden of Aubrey, Texas, and Claudette Lovelace of Omaha; and a host of

born June 21, 1933, in Naples. He was employed at the Veterans Administration
Hospital in Sepulveda, CA; was a member of the Union Chapel Baptist Church, and
was retired from the US Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Martha Shepherd
Lovelace of Los Angeles; one son, Theodus (T.J.) Mark Lovelace Jr., of Los
