was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Cleta Barajas, Sr.; son, Kerry
Barajas; and four brothers, Pete, Johnny, Savio, and Tirso Barajas. Survivors
include two sons, Doran Barron of Richardson, and Randall Barron of Celina; a
daughter, Darice Barron Nations of Washington, AR; four brothers, Willie Barajas
of Cedar Hill, TX, Henry Barajas of Mooringsport, LA, Andres Barajas of Ennis,

Funeral Service of Naples. Mr. Lewis, born in Naples, was a 1956 honor graduate
of Pewitt High School where he was valedictorian, and a 1960 graduate of the
University of North Texas at Denton. He had taught school at Palestine, AR,
Yorktown, TX and at Canyon Junior High in New Braunfels. He was serving as
principal of Shiner Elementary School. He was a member of the Texas Elementary
Principals and Supervisors Assoc., and the Texas State Teachers Association. He
is survived by his wife, Mary Lewis of Shiner; his mother, Mrs. Olivia Thomas
Lewis of Naples, two daughters, Lana Lewis Taylor and Connie Lewis, both of
Austin; one sister, Shirley Woodard of DeKalb; and three brothers, Ray Lewis of

Mrs. Orene Slider, 82, of Naples, were to be conducted Thursday, September 29,
2005 at 11 am, at First United Methodist Church in Naples with the Rev. Dr. Tim
Edwards officiating. Mrs. Slider was born November 27, 1922, in Naples, to
Emmett and Carrie Fleming. She died Monday, September 26, 2005 at her home
following a lengthy illness. She grew up in the Naples area and attended Naples
High School, graduating in 1940. After high school she attended East Texas
State Teachers College in Commerce, TX, and then the University of Arkansas in
Fayetteville, AR. Mrs. Slider started teaching in 1943 at James Bowie High
School in Simms, TX, and taught there for five years. In 1948 she married James
Lenoy Slider and they were blessed with a daughter, Sheri Jan Slider Estes.
After teaching at James Bowie High School, she taught at Linden High School in
Linden, TX, and upon leaving there, began her teaching career at Paul Pewitt
High School where she had an illustrious career. Mrs. Slider retired in 1981
after 37 years as a teacher. During her years as a teacher, she taught high
school English, business English and Spanish. Following her retirement, she
kept busy doing volunteer work at local nursing homes. She was involved with
church activities at the First United Methodist Church in Naples and served as
president of the Sunshine Class, chairman of Evangelism, and other things for
the church as needed. She was a charter member of the Jonquil Garden Club and a
member of the Pewitt CISD Education Foundation. She was a charter member of the
Naples Eastern Star, Morris County Retired Teachers Association, the Daughters
of the Republic of Texas and the Martha Laird Chapter D.A.R. In June, Mrs.
Slider was honored by the Pewitt Foundation Association as its �teacher of the
year� at the group�s annual gala event. A few years earlier she was honored as
Naples� �citizen of the year� by the Naples Chamber of Commerce. Survivors
include one daughter, Sheri Slider Estes of Austin; one brother, Kennard Fleming
of Dallas; and one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amy Estes Alexander and
Davin Alexander of Rosebud. She was preceded in death by her husband, James
Lenoy Slider, on August 4, 1990, and also by her parents. Interment was to be
at the Naples Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Service of

Baptist Church at Marietta. Mr. Wommack was a member of the Naples City Council
for the past 25 years and had served as mayor pro-tem during a number of those
years. He was a lifetime resident of the Naples and Marietta area. Survivors
include his wife, Bonnie Nance Wommack of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law,
