Menard County was created on January 22, 1858 and organized on May 8, 1871 from Bexar Land District. This county was named for Michel Branamour Menard, the founder of Galveston, Texas. Welcome to the Menard County TXGenWeb Project. My name is Bunny Freeman, the Volunteer County Coordinator for Menard Co.
