LOCATION: The Louis Rothe Family Graveyard , on the Rowe-Smith property, 3.2 miles north of D'Hanis, Medina County, Texas, USA, on Farm to Market Road 1796, is on the west side of the road. Seco Creek is to the west of the cemetery. The iron-fenced portion of the cemetery measures twenty feet, three inches by twenty-eight feet, four inches. The fenced area does not include all the property designated for the cemetery, which is one acre. The cemetery and all the tombstones were photographed 19 August 2000. Two of the graves have sunk and require soil. Latitude 292215 N. longitude 0991655 W.

Christoph Gottlieb Heinrich Rothe, his wife Emelia Rose Wurzbach Rothe, and their five children came from Warmensteinach, Bavaria, to Medina County, Texas, USA, arriving there in December 1854. Their children are Johann Frederick (Fritz), Heinrich (Henry), Louis, August, Christian, and Ernestina. Their son Louis Rothe's will dated 16 Aug. 1918 directed establishment of the graveyard: "I direct that my Executors set aside one acre of ground as a family grave yard, with a road connecting same to the public road, to be reserved to the use of my family, forever."
