Vivian Gee

Funeral services for Vivian Gee, 62, formerly of Bay City, Texas will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Mother Zion Baptist Church in Bay City.

Burial will follow at Allenhurst Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

Mary Gordon

Miss Mary Gordon died last night at 11:20 o’clock. Death came after long illness, the patient having been confined to her bed for many months by paralysis, and while her loss brings sorrow and grief to those who loved her, death was a merciful relief from her suffering. Deceased was a sister of Mrs. J. A. Jones and had made her home with that family ever since they have lived in Bay City. She was 61 years and 8 months of age at the time of her death. The funeral service was held at the residence at 4 o’clock this afternoon and was followed by interment in Cedarvale cemetery. The Tribune joins with the friends of the family in a tender of sincere sympathy.

Mrs. S. A. Gore – Sally A. Gore

Mrs. S. A. Gore for many years resident of the Markham community died at a Houston hospital Thursday, September 29, and was buried in Cedarvale cemetery Saturday, October 1, immediately following religious services at the Baptist church, Rev. Smith of Markham officiating.

Mrs. Gore was 73 years, nine months and three days old and had lived a long and useful life.

The Tribune extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.

Eva Hale Eastman Graham

Funeral services for Eva Hale Graham, 77, of Bay City are scheduled for 2 p. m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Bay City with the Revs. Mike Toland, Jim Welch and Mike Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Eva Graham passed away on Dec. 24 at Matagorda House in Bay City. She was born Nov 5, 1920 in Midfield to Frank and Maggie Bell Gault Hale. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was communion steward for 25 years, a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Matagorda General Hospital where she devoted more than 5000 hours to its patients, and she was vice-president of J. P. Graham Well Service and was very active in community and civic affairs.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Gennie Eastman McAfterty and Tom of Grapevine and Cedar Lane, Kaye Graham Orr and Robin of Bay City and Margaret Graham Winkles of Dr. Billy Winkles of Bay City; four grandchildren, Thomas Graham McAfterty and Renee McAferty of Gastonia, North Carolina, Alan Lee Nauman and fiancée Jennifer Moore of Marshall and Addie Lynn Nauman of Bay City; and her friend and loving caregiver, Toni Jo Garcia of Bay City.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. B. Eastman and James Presley “Prep” Graham; a sister, Ressie Blaylock; four brothers, Tom Hale Sr., Bland Hale, Rodney Hale, Pete Hale Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Mike Muecke, Taylor Steves, Steven Wagner, Peter Hale Jr., Francis Savage, Martin Garcia, Pat Matthes and Brent Kirby. Honorary pallbearers include the Altar Guild of First United Methodist Church, Fellowship Class, Clay Penny and the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Matagorda General Hospital.

Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Funeral Services For Clyde Grant Are Held Monday

Services for Clyde D. Grant, 59, were conducted Monday afternoon from the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with H. W. Sargent officiating.

Interment was in Cedarvale Cemetery. Mr. Grant died here Sunday.

Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Garland Hammond of East Columbia; one son, Otis of Bay City; two sisters, Mrs. O. F. Ray of Bay City and Mrs. T. M. Ambler of San Antonio; four brothers, R. G. of Melrose, New Mexico, Roy of Clovis, New Mexico, Troy of Corpus Christi, and Claude of East Bernard.

H. M. Green Dies Today at Hospital

Mr. H. M. Green, 58, died this morning at 5:30 following an illness of several days. Mr. Green had been an employee of the city for the past several years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna A. Green; three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Riggs, and Mrs. B. T. Chumley of Bay City and Mrs. Howard Tulvin of Pleasanton; two sons, Elba of San Antonio, Clarence M., of Bay City; two stepsons, Albert Rosenbusch of Houston and Carl Rosenbush of Sweetwater; four sisters, Mrs. Alta Hudson of Lampasas, Mrs. Maurine Hermon of Houston, Mrs. Estella Lawrence of Buda, Mrs. Jesse Mae Hough of Austin; two brothers, Woodson Green of Cuero and John Green of Austin.

Funeral services, under the direction of Matchett-Newman, will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Reverend M. A. Marshall and Reverend R. L. Blankenship will officiate. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery.

W. M. Gregory – Francis Marion Gregory

The community of Van Vleck was saddened yesterday when death claimed one of its oldest and most prominent citizens, Mr. W. M. Gregory.

Mr. Gregory contracted pneumonia only a few days ago, but grew worse rapidly until death relieved him of his suffering at an early hour yesterday morning.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Millican, and a son, who is living in Colorado.

Funeral services were conducted at the home in Van Vleck, but the burial took place here this afternoon.

Mr. Gregory had been a citizen here for many years, and during his residence in the county, made many close friendships. The Tribune joins the many friends of the family in an expression of sympathy.

Mrs. Mollie Grimes

Mrs. Mollie Grimes died yesterday at the home of her son, John T. Grimes in North Bay City, and was buried this morning at 10 p. m.

Mrs. Grimes was born in Alabama, 71 years ago and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She has been living in Bay City for the past 12 years.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Pearl Sickler of Mirando City; Mrs. Wm. Vina of Bay City, and her son, John, also of this place.

The Tribune joins the friends of the family in sympathy because of the loss of their mother, their dearest treasure.

William W. Grimes

Mr. William W. Grimes died at his home on the Gaedcke farm north of Bay City today and will be buried tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock with services at the cemetery.

He was 70 years of age and is survived by his wife and several children.

Funeral Services For Ramon Guzman Held Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 6 o’clock for Ramon Guzman, 9, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church here with Father Elmendorf officiating. Burial was in the Cedarvale Cemetery. Taylor Brothers were in charge of the arrangements.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Guzman; one brother, Louis Jr.
