C. Looney Mason, Sept. 23 (SC)--Funeral services were held for Mrs. L. C. Looney Tuesday from the residence. The Rev. L. V. Nobles, pastor of the Burnet Church of Christ, officiated and was assisted by Rev. J. J. Ray. Mrs. Looney, one of the early settlers of Mason County, was before her marriage Miss Nancy Angelina Johnston. She was born in Middleton, Tenn.. Dec. 19, 1859, and came to Texas at the age of twelve. In 1876 she was married to L. C. Looney of Grayson County and seven years later moved to Mason County where she resided the remainder of her life. Mrs. Looney is survived by ten children: Mrs. Emil Behrens, Mrs. Harry Behrens, Mrs. Arch Emanuel, Miss Pearl Looney, M. T. Looney and Dee Looney of Mason; Mrs. L. R. Bode and J. H. Looney of San Angelo; Mrs. C. A. Daniels, Iraan; W. C. Looney, Hext. Also surviving are one brother, T. Johnston, Jayton; a sister, Mrs. Julius Splittgerber, Mason; thirty four grandchildren, forty great grand- children and three great-great grandchildren.
