We have information in our cemeteries that is from researching, not just from walking the cemetery, and there may not be a stone so it will be easy to prove they were copied. The cemeteries are here for researching and personal use only not for submitting to other web pages. This is hard work of volunteers. We have the locations of the cemeteries if you would like to walk it and get your own listing. |

| A old cemetery listing gives the name "Peters Cemetery" to this now named "Barfield Cemetery". Only one marker list a Peters and about 40 Barfield markers. Another older listing makes this statement, "This graveyard is the pride of one DeVaney Arbuckle Barfield, who has always been known in the county as Major, Major is 85 years old, but he is still active. Major's grandmother (1814-1892) is buried here and Major himself has a stone up and waiting. The first Barfields once kept a stage coach inn, a two story log house, a part of which is still standing some three miles further west on the same farm road that leads past the cemetery." |
