On an extremely cold, wet February day in 1906, Capt. Adolph Zoeller and his wife,
Augusta, were on their way home from a grandchild's birthday in Fredericksburg when they came upon a wrecked carriage.
Augusta tried to help by cutting the harness to free the horse while Capt. Adolph stood helplessly by as
he had be wounded during the Civil War (Union Army) and was unable to help her. The effort was too much for Augusta. She suffered a heart attack and died.
The weather was too bad to take the body to Comfort, so Capt. Zoeller decided to bury her in an area across the road from the home she loved.
Thus, this area became a cemetery for family and community.

The photograpic survey done in June, 2012 found the grave markers of Anna Heisler TreIber (1876 - 1959) and Frederick M. Treiber (1873 - 1959>in this, the Zoeller Cemetery. They had originally been listed in the Waring Cemetery by the Survey done in 1986 by BAHPS. Last submission, a history, by Violet Alexander on Nov. 19, 2013/
