Welcome to Jackson County, Texas

Jackson County was one of the original twenty-three counties of Texas, created on 17 Mar 1836 and organized in 1837 from an Old Mexican Municipality. County seat: Texana (1836-1883; originally known as Santa Anna); Edna (1883-present). Included land grants to Stephen F. Austin and Martin de Leon.  Read the history of Jackson County.
