Carroll Hering, 75, of Whitney
Passed away at his residence on October 7, 2009. Carroll was born on November 5, 1933 in Mart, Texas to the late Henry and Carrie ( Johnston ) Hering.
He grew up in Mart and graduated from Mart High School in 1951. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1955 with a B.S. degree in Agriculture Engineering.
Carroll served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1962.
On October 27, 1984, he married Margaret Hughes in Lubbock, Texas.
He worked for Ralston-Purina for 26 years and after retiring he worked for Proctor - Gamble until 1995. He then worked for Chickasha Cotton Oil Co. in Harlingen, Texas from 1995 until 2000.
He moved to Whitney in 2000.
He was a Methodist, a member of Hill County Genealogy Society and their web master, and Hill County Historical Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Whitney;
Children, John Hering and wife, Patience of Coppell, David Hering of Little Elm, James Hering and wife, Marcy of Highland Village, Nancy Whitworth and husband, Jason of Watauga, Mark Hering and wife, Kay of Clairmore, OK., Dominique Shu and husband, Theo of Houston, Leonard Haley of Whitney; sister, Joylene Read and husband, Jimmy of Mart; grandchildren, Austin Hering, Macy Hering, Priscilla Barnes, Jacob Hering, Megan Hering, Alex Kasischke and Pierce Whitworth.
