Leonard August Weise, 90, passed away Friday evening, June 22, 2012, at Haskell Memorial Hospital in Haskell. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Morris Johnson, and Mr. Matthew Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Leonard was born in Haskell on August 26, 1921, to Will Albert and Lena Anna (Steinfath) Weise. He married Frances Zelisko on December 1, 1945, in Haskell and has lived in the community all his life. Leonard retired as a farmer, rancher, and carpenter. He served on the school boards of both Haskell and Mattson schools.   Mr. Weise was a founding member of the Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church where he also served as Deacon for many years.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Lena Weise; 3 sisters, Lillian Smith, Lydia Moeller, and Alene Bredthauer; 2 brothers, Wilton Weise and Curtis Weise.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances; children, Susan Anderson and husband Donny, Randall Weise, and Tim Weise and wife Donna; grandchildren, Matt and Aneesah Anderson, Cody Weise, and Julie Hankins; 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be given in Leonard's name to Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church, 1600 N. 1st Street, Haskell, TX 79521
