Jo Evelyn Patterson, 87, lifelong resident of Rochester passed away, Saturday morning, June 23, 2012 at Munday Nursing Home in Munday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at Weinert Foursquare Church with Rev. Rob Harrison and Rev. Jim Reid officiating. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Family will be receiving friends Sunday evening, June 24, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Rochester.

Jo Evelyn Russell was born August 10, 1924, in Haskell County to Paul and Ruth (Davenport) Russell. She attended school at New Mid and Dennis Chapel in her early years and graduated from Rochester High School in 1942. She married W.H. Patterson in Lovington, New Mexico on March 16, 1957. Jo Evelyn is a member of Weinert Foursquare Church and the Rochester Woman Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Patterson; an infant child, Clarence Paul; her parents, Paul and Ruth Russell; a brother, Kenneth Russell; and a niece and nephew.
Jo Evelyn is survived by her 2 daughters, Sharon Brinson and husband Dolan, and Karen Byrd and husband Clifford all of Rochester; 1 son, Pat Patterson of Rochester; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Ruth White and husband Ray of Rochester, and Barbara Lee of Odessa; 1 brother, Ricki Russell and wife Margaret of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that loved her very much.
