Hazel Marie McClintock, 82, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at a local medical center in Abilene. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 1:30p.m., at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N 2nd St. Abilene, TX with Wes Terry of Broadview Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery, 7458 West Lake Road.

Hazel was born October 3, 1929, in Weinert (Haskell County), Texas to the late Ed and Effie (Hunt) Fullerton. She was raised in Weinert and attended public schools there. She was one of six children. A brother died in infancy and her father died when she was a young girl.
Hazel married A.J. McClintock on May 25, 1954. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 25, 2012. Hazel and A.J. made their home in Stamford, Texas. They had three children: Sharon, Darla and Gary. Hazel was a homemaker most of her life. She had worked some in the school cafeterias in Stamford and Abilene. After retiring in the 1980's, A.J. and Hazel made their home in Abilene. Family meant everything to both of them, and they wanted to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, A.J.; her daughter, Sharon; her parents; two sisters, Viola York and Jewel Booe; and two brothers, Virgil and Floyd Fullerton.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Darla Cox and husband Steve; one son, Gary McClintock; and son-in-law Earnest Brooks, all of Abilene. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michelle Huffaker and husband Joe Dan of Avoca; Michael Brooks and wife Sandra of Abilene; Marc Brooks and wife Katie of Abilene; Stephanie Sidwell and husband Matthew of Euless; and Christopher Cox of Abilene. Eight great-grandchildren, Noelle Huffaker, Danyelle Huffaker, Jourdan Huffaker, Abagael Brooks, Madisyn Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Kaison Brooks, and Hailey Sidwell.

Hazel's family would like to thank her sweet friends and neighbors at the Arbors of Rose Park for their prayers and support.
