Calvin R. Lusk

Calvin R. Lusk, 83, passed away on Thursday,
July 12, 2012, at his residence in Abilene.
Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Monday, July
16, 2012 in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home
Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, with Chuck
Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in
Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, under the
direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Visitation will be prior to the service on
Monday from 12:30 to 1:30p.m. at the funeral
home.
Calvin was born on July 24, 1928 in Haskell
County, Texas to the late Richard E. and Willie
Dudley Lusk. He attended schools in Knox City
and moved to Abilene from Stamford in 1947.
Calvin married Uba Lee Hill on September 5,
1948.
Calvin worked at different jobs, but for 30
years he was employed by Lee Cullen doing
concrete work. He poured concrete, set forms,
and learned the concrete business. After working
for Lee Cullen, Calvin went into his own
business and did very well for 12 years. Lee
Lusk, Calvin's wife, became ill and Calvin
retired in 1989 to take care of Lee. She was
sick for 4 years and passed away in November of
1999. The family wishes to give
special thanks to the Hospice of the Big
Country.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his
wife; one daughter, Elaine Klug; and several
siblings.
Survivors include his son-in-law, Larry Klug;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews; and friends.
