David Robert Josselet, 74 of Abilene, passed away at Hendrick Medical Center on May 11, 2012. A service is scheduled for Monday May 14, 2012, at 3:00 pm in the Piersall Benton Chapel, 733 Butternut, with a burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 pm before the service.

David was born in the Josselet community near Haskell on March 3, 1938, to Richard and Hope Josselet. After he graduated from High School he attended a barber college in Austin, Texas. David and Jacquelyn married in 1957 at the Haskell Church of Christ. David was a letter carrier for 40 years with the US Postal Service. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 40 years, a 20 year member of the Abilene Umpire Association, a 28 year member of the Southwest football officials, a 30 year member of the Southwest basketball officials and served as the secretary for the group for 6 years. In addition to his work with sports he was a committee member for Troop #217 Boy Scouts of America and a member of the "Sunday Morning Early Bird class" at Highland Church of Christ.

Surviving David are his wife Jacquelyn, a son Ricky Josselet and wife Pam of Lawrence, KS, a daughter Michelle Torres of Abilene, three grandsons: Devin Torres of Abilene, Brandon Josselet and wife Barbara of Graham, TX, and Brian Josselet of Breckenridge TX, four granddaughters: Desiree Torres, of Abilene, Kristen Clinger and husband Brad of Destin, FL, and Allison and Catie Josselet of Eber Springs, MO, as well as five great grandchildren. In addition, David is survived by a sister, two brothers many other extended family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Josselet of Breckenridge, TX, and his mother and father.
