Thomas "Rudy" Casey, 59, passed away Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012, at his home in Rule. Funeral services will at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Rule with Rev. Russell Stanley and Mr. John Greeson officiating. Burial will be at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Rule. A family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening, May 2 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rudy was born May 9, 1952, in Haskell to Marjorilene Camper and Eugene Lamar Casey. He graduated from Rule ISD and attended McMurry University in Abilene. He married Julie Carruth in Munday June 3, 1972, and lived in Rule all his life. He worked as an oil field pumper and also operated a cafe in Haskell. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rule.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lamar Casey; and father-in-law, Ira Lee Carruth.
Rudy is survived by his wife Julie; two sons, Tommy Casey and Mike Casey and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Katelyn and Jacob Casey; his mother, Margie Casey; brother, Gary Casey; sister, Sonja Parr and husband David; mother-in-law, Betty Sue Carruth; sisters-in-law, Beth Arnold and husband Paul, Diana Graham and husband Elden, and Teri Lee Carruth; and numerous aunts, cousins, and nephews.

If desired, memorial can be made in Rudy's name to the American Cancer Society, Inc.
